Glad to see that you have noticed Expanding Earth Theory.
I have family and friends who are professional geologists, particularly my step-dad who is a Sr USGS geologists, and it seems Expanding Earth is being kept quiet, but it is fairly irrefutable.
In the context of this thread and petroleum, it is particularly important to know the mechanics of how all large massive bodies expand from the inside out.
The average amount of expansion for the amount of mass of the earth to have doubled since 50 or 60 million years ago is not great, difficult to measure itself in fact, only several inches of circumference of the Earth per year, although there is geologic evidence that the expansion may be greater at sometimes rather than others.
The more popular theory of how this expansion takes place from the inside-out, is through the capture of neutrinos, which are very elusive and difficult to measure particles, and their conversion into hydrogen.
This also leads to the idea that a great deal of the earths core is metallic hydrogen created in this neutrino capture process. Metallic hydrogen would have a similar mass as an iron core, which is the mainstream theory.
Also hydrocarbons would not be of biological origins, but also produced through this hydrogen production process in the mantle, and it would account for most water as the product of this process too.
The gas giants and their satellites have atmospheres and oceans of mostly hydrocarbons, and we may presume that those hydrocarbons were not produced by biology either.

So...it looks to me like that 'FUNNY CARTOON'
that the character "Charlie' played in the
movie; "2012" (Woody Harrelson played Charlie)
WAS ACTUALLY ACCURATE!!
I will try to capture that 'cartoon' presented in
a fictionalized movie--but with REAL INFORMATION--
"2012" to show you guys...but 'Charlie' presents
his theory on "neutrinos" and the actual geologist
who is in India gives ACCURATE INFO about 'neutrinos"
heating up the Earth's 'CORE' as well....HMMMMMM....

This is ENTIRELY NEW MATERIAL to me--eheCAT...
I was taught at U OF O AS RECENTLY AS 1998...in
both Earth Science and GEOLOGY upper division classes
(not the "101's"!!) that the 'tectonic plate movement'
science is SOUND and nothing whatsoever was even
mentioned as a "theory" regarding "EXPANDING EARTH"
(which I should think would be included in an uppper
division Geology/Earth Sciences/Volcanology class--
wouldn't you???) I am really disappointed to learn that
this was OUT THERE and available to learn about and
it is NOT BEING TAUGHT.
I would guess that there is a COMBINATION of both
earth-expansion AND plate tectonic movements at work
and not actually their being exclusive of each other.
THIS IS VERY INTERESTING INFO--eCAT....and please
let us know what your 'FAMILY OF GEOLOGISTS' HAVE TO
SAY ABOUT "BAYOU CORNE" and the 'Door Volcano' being
punctured!! Would really appreciate corroboration
