Some of what this character says explains some things, but others make no sense at all. Why would these sadists go to all the trouble of bringing in actors when they could satisfy their Hybristophilia doing the real thing with a real bomb.

The Boston explosions were more of a large a pyrotechnic than a real bomb. The steward a few metres away didn't even step forward. The shop and office windows were blown out due to the implosion. The mail box wasn't even moved by the fireball. The flags only moved long after the fireball, as air refilled the vacuum caused by the conflagration.

Legs being blown off those standing next to the pyrotechnic makes sense, but a weapon of mass destruction????

The whole thing would have been far more effective in a subway carriage - and would cause far more chaos.
