The dinner showed the unbelievably close ties of hollywood, the journalist community and Washington DC. People watching commented on the scholarships, they thought there were very few white males. I didn't see it so don't know. They also were commenting that these people make enormous salaries and they can't come up with a few bucks for a scholarship for a kid to do an internship? With all those people in that room a hundred fifty grand was pocket change, they should be ashamed of themselves. And, if they fight over those tickets so much solve the problem, make each ticket ten grand and they can finance plenty of scholarships. It's a charitable contribution and seems to be an event they clamor to attend, so they would pay.

One person suggested that instead of putting cards on the table and hoping for the best, they should have had table races in real time for who could put the most money in the top hat at the center of the table and then awarded prizes for the most generous table of the night. These guys can't think out of the box.
