He's afraid to do anything that would lead to the public finding out that Syria's chemical weapons came directly from Iraq about a decade ago.

It is not the responsibility of the United States to reprimand or punish Syria if it turns out there are indeed chemical weapons.

The problem is, there must be definitive proof that it was Assad who ordered their use. They could very well have been planted by the resistance in order to get global support.

Should it be proven that it was Assad and his forces, the matter should be handed over to the UN.
