To you its grotesque, everyone has their own taste.
Guessing that piece is worth more then you would ever make in your life time, or even more.

Maybe this is more your style?

I've been trying to find more by this guy but must not have the spelling correct. I'll keep trying though.

It all started going downhill when that alcoholic bastard, Pollack, started flinging paint around in random, drunken spurts, and that talentless autistic scumbag, Picasso, was conning the world with his shit!

How could their crap possibly compare to a Turner, or Manet, or Monet?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 38885653

I was never a huge fan of Picasso. Maybe I just don't "get it". I like art that requires talent, skill, and precision.
 Quoting: love/light

I felt the same way.. If an artist was able to create realistic as possible they were brilliant. If one can create and it can trick you into thinking it was photograph quality in my opinion, is what I liked.

But with the mentioned modern artist I do appreciate there niche for colors.

Unfortunately due to my high standards I have no time to do the work, It would take me years to do one painting. So much for staying young .

Re: Let's start an ART thread!
We can't leave out art on the Earth!

Whoever rearranged the mountains, valleys and trees to create magnificent art were masters of a technology unknown to us today.

It happens that the art I'd like to show you is all in Utah near Park City (if you like skiing and mountains, you'd enjoy it here).

Each image is oriented perfectly North/South. Since most images measure 3 miles across, they can only be seen from 5-10 miles altitude using GoogleEarth.

To help others "see" this art, I created a Photoshop version of each image, then crafted them into videos with some of my favorite music.

I'm not a great artist or a video expert, but I learned basic Photoshop and MovieMaker so I could share the information.

Here's three I like (each is only a minute long):

Even though they correlate to the Apocalypse, I'm not Mormon, and I'm not religiously affiliated, but I still think Earthlings should know about them!

I'm happy to share more if you're interested go to www.sacredgeology.com

Yeah, I lag on paintings as well. I started drawing a watercolor about a year ago, and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. I shaded it, erased the shading, outlined it with india ink and decided to paint it. It's about halfway done, so it's safe to say that I could be painting more often. I usually get about halfway through something, start another project, then go back and forth between the two until they are both done hf
