Let's start an ART thread! | |
U3 User ID: 9834739 United States 05/05/2013 08:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can see how you fell in love with these. They make me want to hold them and that's just from looking at pictures of them. Quoting: U3 Do you display your collection in some way? I would have to do something with them if they were mine. By any chance, do you happen to know why they stylized the lion like that? I've noticed this style on all kinds of things but never looked into it. Thanks for finding a link and sharing your passion. My collection is wrapped and stored for my offspring to discover when I pass away. I think they would be delighted to find out they have a world to discover in place of sorrow. The story behind the imagery is consistent with the coin. In the past these images were used on everything. It defined their era of rule and style. It was the same in architecture. In the study of art history, periods encompass all elements of art; music was drawn into frieze images and fabrics were paintings of symbolism. Maybe the story of the fleur de lis [link to www.valuable-coin-stories.com] and the lion combined will offer a guess. [link to www.valuable-coin-stories.com] Thanks for the links. That was interestng reading. You sound just like my mom. I hope you put a note in there, too. I think it would mean a lot to them to know you planned this. XO "We are the music makers. U3 User ID: 9834739 United States 05/05/2013 08:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | One evening, I spent a few hours looking at things like this and other illusions.....and that night, it really affected my dreamtime....they were more vivid. I guess I should do it some more but I ended up with a headache the next day, lol! Btw, I soft-focus. Haven't tried leaning back. I could spend hours looking at the magic 3-D art, too, interesting how it affected your dreams. I wonder what parts of the brain it exercises? Maybe the third eye? I had a little headache today, probably from staring at that image I posted last night. I really got into it, lol! I could do all kinds of things with it. "We are the music makers. Do you use palette knife or brushes(?) I am in love with that blue color you got in the lower left-hand corner, very nice compliment to the other colors and scheme of the painting. this was oil on paper. hands nails brushes anything around. color is the only thing i think i am good at. self defeating artist life. What type of paper do you use? That's great. I've tried to work on wood panel, the oil in the paint got sucked up so fast I found it hard to work with (I was probably supposed to prime it first, but was impatient, haha). I think you are good at more than just color. But, I know how it is. I was so frustrated while painting I tossed one of my paintings out a second-floor window once. |

I like the one you posted and found this in your gallery that I REALLY like: [link to plus.google.com (secure)] This one too: [link to plus.google.com (secure)] thanks u3. contact for sales or barter or whatever. there is a bunch of hidden shaun... projects around. oilpocalypsestill.wordpress.com apocalypsestill.blogspot.com You know, when I checked out oilapocalypsestill, as I looked through it, I realized you have documented the feel of the whole thing. Those images should not be sold/bartered separately. They are a whole. I hope you get the chance to do a showing of all of those at once.....maybe one room covering all 4 walls with them....because it's not only documentation, but also an experience. So, I wasn't too surprised when I went to apocalypsestill and read your intention with that project. Journalism was my passion for many years. When the Iran protests occured in their 2009 elections, I was reporting on it for 3 days before msm reported on it. Many of the videos and images I captured have been scrubbed from the internet now. So I still have my journals and my words about it, but you have visuals to document the horrors. I hope you feel good about this whether it results in something or not. You've done your part to help. If you soft focus, the middle image pops out. And you can make the middle image do several different shapes, besides 0356, plus you can also make that back image move or stand still. It's really amazing what all you can do with this one. Last Edited by ERE3 on 05/05/2013 09:10 PM "We are the music makers. And we are the dreamers of dreams." Willy Wonka |

Helen is/was a pretty amazing artist, I know that vid only shows the beginning of a painting, but for anyone who hasn't seen her paint, try to find a full episode. Her realism was really great. I think I picked up little things here and there. I started off with a Bob Ross kit when I was 11 or 12, I did landscapes for a few years, then completely gave that up and just did my own stuff from dreams or imaginings. Yes, I watched all three every week. Actually, a lot--I was home a lot as a child due to illness, I had home instruction for a few years, and during the day I watched a lot of PBS. It kept me good company, I enjoyed watching them create. |

It's like looking at the clouds, there's really a connection between "this" fifth element and the conscious mind. Heres other shots I got: Mr I know who ;) Jesus like face Anubis like face inside my garage plywood, and it's unflat. The word Blow, hehe a girl I know from work and so many more.
