Ron Paul: Police Manhunt For Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Scarier Than Attack
Former Rep. Ron Paul said the law enforcement that swarmed around Boston in the days following the marathon bombings was scarier than the actual terrorist attack.

“The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city,” he said on the Lew Rockwell website, Politico reported.

“This unprecedented move should frighten us as much or more than the attack itself.”

(snip)

Mr. Paul, a former libertarian political candidate who served in Congress as a member of the Republican Party, said the door-to-door searches police conducted in Watertown for the bombing suspects were particularly alarming.

They reminded of a “military coup in a far off banana republic,” he said, Politico reported. “Force lockdown of a city. Militarized police riding tanks in the streets. Door-to-door armed searches without warrant. Families thrown out of their homes at gunpoint to be searched without probable cause. Businesses forced to close. Transport shut down.”

"And I know that when I leave savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard. We are not the wolves at the gate, we are the ones who face them."

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Matthew 10:22

Tyranny will take hold everywhere it is allowed, and so many like you who dont understand that fact of life are the very ones making it more likely here in the US.

No one would have likely gotten shot, and if they did, then thats what it takes to maintain freedom at times.

Freedom is not free and does not come without a price.

The use of force is a requirement to maintain freedom.

This is America we don't need 25k foot soldiers armed vehicles and a whole city locked down to defend ourselves. Everyone was already on alert. If you think this was about looking for that single kid then you are just as brain washed as the rest.

The city was swarming with police and choppers already. They had a shoot out, the kid got away in a vehicle, abandoned it yet police and FBI k9 and all that air power couldn't track him down until they had their little town takeover set up. Then by the worst chance he is caught. Only after pulling residents out by gun point and searching every home. Go to north Korea or China if that's the way you want to live. You are not American.

Re: Ron Paul: Police Manhunt For Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Scarier Than Attack

Transport shut down.”

meanwhile the suspects were already roaming around, carjacking and shooting cops because they thought they were fingered

RP needs to go to pasture

his time is done

I didn't see then doing the same for Chris dorner. And forget about the thugs that do this on a daily basis. An unarmed kid vs 25,000 armed personnel and tanks makes so much sense.

armed kid....throwing grenades, bombs and driving over people and through blockades

no knowing if there were others involved so it was paramount to get to him to question him

but hey, don't let the obvious hit you in the face

or that the people of Boston cooperated and worked together better as a community than you can obviously comprehend

but wail on, Sally

THIS is what I would call "the obvious" there Sally.

"We, the secret police and our thousands of militarized auxiliaries, are wonderful. We are the best. We are brave. We are strong. We are smart. We are the many. We are the proud. We are the narcissists. We work 24/7. Just like on TV. Our motto is: Hey You, Protect Us, Serve Us. Let's slap each other's backs! Again! We failed to prevent the bombing, with our vast spending and spying, of course, but at least we accomplished our real objective: weakening the people, empowering the police state

There will never be another person in politics like Ron Paul.

The man deserves so much respect. Unfortunately, he was not allowed to go to far in his presidential run because he's too honest.

And we sure can't have that.

You know our country is finished when a man who honors the Constitution is ridiculed and called a 'kook'.
