What event turned you into a Conspiracy Theorist?

Was always interested in UFO's as a kid - I think my older brother got me into that. Then the whole moon landing thing during the early days of the internet - 1994/5. Then, of course, 9/11.

I don't actually buy into that many conspiracies to be honest. I think the moon landings most likely DID happen. 9/11 I'm sure was an "inside job" to some degree, but I think a lot of the conspiracies theories surrounding it are garbage.

November 22, 1963.

I was a precocious ten years old that autumn day and although I was still too young to fully grasp the consequences, I was drawn to the entire tableau by the obvious gravity of the event... grown teachers simply didn't burst into tears in the middle of a class! And, when school was cancelled for several days following JFK's murder, instead of playing outside with my friends I stayed glued to that 16" b/w Philco TV like I was a drowning man and it was a life preserver. But, it was when I witnessed Jack Ruby kill Lee Harvey Oswald live on CBS that I KNEW something wasn't right. Luckily, my reading comprehension was advanced for my age and I absorbed everything our local newspapers and national mags [LIFE did several special issues] ground out on anything/everything Kennedy. And, it was constant flood of all things Camelot.

In November of 1964, my family took a vacation to Texas with Dallas as the last major stop on our way home back here to Kansas. My Dad always drove Lincolns and the five of us were packed into our black 1960 towne car as he steered us along the exact route that JFK's motorcade had taken. I insisted that morning on sitting in the same back seat position as Kennedy with my older sister i Jackie's spot. As we rounded that corner onto Elm Street, I looked back and up at the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository and saw immediately that Oswald couldn't have killed the President from that perch. It wasn't the rifle or the angle of the shot... it was the TREES. Fully-grown and in full leaf they would've completely obscured Oswald's line-of-sight at the crucial time. Here I was, 11 years old and I spotted them at once. When I told him, my Dad wanted to drive the route again with my Mom at the wheel so he could see for himself... but Mom has kinda' cranky that day and would have none of it. My biggest regret that day was in not eyeballing what was eventually called, "the grassy knoll [in 1964 it still hadn't yet been touted as the primary shooter's position]."

And, when the Warren Commission Report was finally released the following spring, I raced to our local library and started reading it in it's entirely. I remember being a little daunted by the TEN navy blue hardcover volumes I found on the shelves, but checked them out one-by-one anyway. Again, I didn't understand ALOT of the twists and turns and testimony of that official "explanation" but I picked up enough to know that the whole thing was a whitewash.

And, the rest -as they say- is history...

Market Manipulation.
Particularly in precious metals.
What really got me though, was when I became convinced of not only extreme market manipulating by criminal insiders but also the collusion of the media, regulating bodies and the crooked politicians.

Down the abbot hole I went.

Now I believe nothing!
Financiers, media, regulating authorities, politicians and the judicial bodies have ZERO credibility and never will.

but mostly; thinking for myself from a young age,

hating the school system, and questioning everything

and just being a badass.

Seeing the Obama Deception on Youtube and then later checking back to see how many people saw it and seeing the counter go from 11 million, to 36 million, and then back down to 8 million.

That film really did it for me. Put all the pieces together and everything clicked in.
