Anonymous Coward User ID: 2150977 United States 05/01/2013 03:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Remember trickle down economics? Can you understand the concept of trickle down? It meant they gave big tax breaks and subsidies to rich people with the idea it would trickle down to the poor. Republicans got votes by borrowing money and giving it to the rich, who would then use this money to hire radio talk show hosts to brainwash the public into voting for Republicans. Clinton balanced the budget and created a surplus, no debt increase under Clinton in 8 years. John Kerry promised to go after these corporate raiders who destroyed our country, to make these benedict arnold companies pay, and he got swift boated by rich republican gangsters for it. |

Cutting less than 1% of the federal budget and they act like the sky is falling. Goes to show that shrinking the government is virtually impossible. You just have to fight it from getting any bigger. Quoting: Dr. Atmood That's cutting the amount of the INCREASE. There is no real cuts in the sequester. |
*HAARP Lady* User ID: 30590548 United States 05/01/2013 03:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | On Friday morning, President Obama held a press conference to address the automatic spending cuts, known as the sequester, that will be taking effect given that no deal has yet been reached. Underlining that the "pain" of these cuts is unnecessary, the president again faulted Republicans for allowing us this situation to happen. Americans are "resilient" and will make it through this patch, Obama said, but Washington isn't making matters easy. We should be making "a series of dumb, arbitrary cuts" to things like education, research, and defense. The cuts' pain "will be real," even though not everyone will feel it right away. Further elaborating on the effects, Obama stressed the "ripple effect" on the economy, which will entail slow growth and cost 750,000. It's "a slow grind that will intensify with each passing day," he said. But "none of this is necessary," Obama added. "It's happening because of a choice Republicans in Congress have made." I can't even comment on this as I know anything that I would say would either get me banned or some other kind of trouble... I second that! Don't get mad - Get a Pepsi! |

Quoting: ozymandias In other words, you think the liberal failure has implemented policies promoted by liberals. Here are some fucking clues for you: 1. There is no "alternative" energy. It is like "alternative" medicine - complete bullshit for the gullible. There will never be a modern city powered completely by solar and wind. 2. He has not reduced our dependence on foreign oil one iota. If anything those evil oil companies have extracted more oil from PRIVATE land despite that piece of shit being against fracking that is responsible for those increases. 3. Military spending is not the problem. The entitlement programs are responsible for our now and future debt. We used to have 30k nuclear missiles - we now have only 5k. So acting like we are increasing our military capabilities is complete bullshit. We are slowly disarming ourselves until some country feels like they can nuke us and get away with it. |
