Do you ever have times when it feels like mild electrical shocks run through your body?
I'm like that tonight.

Any kind of sudden noise (and it doesn't have to be loud) causes a weird feeling like a mild electrical
current runs super fast through my body.

The only other time I was like this was about 5 years ago
and was prescribed Paxil. I took it about 2 weeks and
decided I felt no different while taking it and just quit.
I didn't know until later that you aren't supposed to go cold turkey but to do it gradually. Anyway, for about 3 days I had these same feelings.

I am not on any medications now and haven't been for a long time. So, wonder why I am having this happen now?
I feel fine other than this heightened nerve sensation.

Mine is more like a mild vibration deep in my body. Feels like the bed and I are one as it is vibrating too. Crazy, never figured it out. Only happens in relaxed state, mostly laying in bed.

I can't say this is a vibration although it's close.
It's fast and even though there is no pain, it's still
not a pleasant feeling.
Maybe it's because I am tired?
Or, for whatever reason, my senses are more aware tonight.
With all that is going on in the world, it could be
a side effect of doom and world crisis alerts.

Get an electrician in to check the wiring, you may have lost the earth wire connection.

frequently for the past few months, very new for me, only lying down, usually at night. I take it as nerves and stress, it is an uncomfortable feeling and it happens in my chest area. I would describe it just as you have, "an electric shock". So, now that others are saying the same thing, maybe there is something going on...

Re: Do you ever have times when it feels like mild electrical shocks run through your body?
"Brain zaps"?

I know anti-depressant withdrawal causes that. A sensation where you feel a jolt of electricity zap through your head for a split second.

Is that what you're experiencing now? Like is it in your head like I described above, or is it all over?

I've never taken antidepressants but when I was younger (10-18 years old I'd say) I would occasionally get brain zaps. But it wasn't all over.

I'm not sure what causes them when they aren't related to abrupt cessation of SSRIs. I also haven't done research on it to find out what the sensations actually are, but I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets to the point where it starts impacting your life.

If it's like what I experienced, it happened so rarely and didn't interfere with anything so it was just a mild curiosity. Then they just stopped happening.

There is something electrical going on around you.

Could be a transformer outside, or an appliance in your home. Live in an apt/condo? Maybe a neighbors appliance.

Don't laugh but I had an old refrigerator that used to give me a shock wave every time it kicked on.

I was around it for years and didn't even notice what was happening.

Could be a cell phone too.

Put your phone on mute and no vibe and have someone call you while you hold it.

You can feel the charge run up your arm.

I have had that feeling like a charge running through my whole body. Hasn't happened in a long time. I don't remember but I might have been under a lot of stress when it occurred.
