Anonymous Coward User ID: 10803506 United States 05/02/2013 12:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't understand the story of Jesus being baptized by his cousin John the Baptist?? Quoting: OLIVIO 11242340 so Jesus cousin John, was a crazy man hermit like a hippie and lived in the wilderness forest eating wild mushrooms and dressed in sackcloth. so he never went to town or hanged around normal people. He had unkept long hair and was going around talking to himself and preaching to passers by. so Jesus went to pay him a visit and John got Jesus to dunk in the river Jordan and baptized him in the name of the father, the son and the Holy spirit. then a dove appeared in the sky just like the one appeared to Noah after the flood, and the dove spoke and said Jesus is my son, listen to what he says. so what does all this story supposed to represent? what does it mean that we have to be baptized, when most people do not know this and go thru life unbaptized ?? Your are asking a Secret matter. I'll tell you a secret answer. Meditate to the answer and you'll see the truth. Here is the clue, remember John's message, "Prepare for Kingdom of Heaven". All his personality and being was prepared for kingdom of Heaven which is nothing to do or related to kingdom of Earth. His act was a proven lifestyle that he lived in extremely minimum attachment to earth. Clothing, food, home were so inferior that consider as survival way on earth. The secret of babtism is a process of transition from kingdom of earth to kingdom of heaven. After crossing the line of transition, somebody in the other side should greet or welcome him. Somebody is the Holy Spirit. Infact Holy Spirit welcoming message was deeper than a simply greeting acceptance. He said "Beloved son, I am well pleased." Meditate the Holy spirit word: ....The greeting was a statement of binding agreement between two person. In other word, Baptism is MARRIAGE AGREEMENT. See what Jesus did along with Spirit right after Baptism. They went to deserted, wilderness place ! Like a bride moved to a groom home. So Jesus moved to from kingdom of earth to kingdom of Heaven. Jesus was willing to get rid of any thing of earthly attachments, including food. During that period , Jesus was deep in love for 40 days. How do we know that Jesus in loved ? Well...just ask Jesus some questions. Read carefully Jesus's answers to those questions. .....Jesus did't want to go back to earth. Jesus was in Holy Spirit side. Somehow, He have to return to earth to complete his mission. Many angels cheered him and since then the Holy Spirit always upon him on earth. Hope anybody who read this, will have a new understanding and love God even more. Good day. |

John Baptised with water, The jewish high priest removed sin with blood of sacrificed animals and sprinkled blood on certain elements moses sprinkled on his people to forgive sins... Somebody is the Holy Spirit. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10803506 The Nicean Creed [link to en.wikipedia.org] when it was written in 325 CE, there was no Trinity. The Holy Spirit was a separate entity. At the 2nd Ecumenical Council in 381 CE, there was an addendum to the Nicean Creed which allowed the Holy Spirit to be of God's substance. This created the Holy Trinity. So, if their bible they read was the same as it is today then how come they missed the Trinity aspect from the beginning ??? So in essence there was no Holy Trinity until 381 CE. |

The Essenes had a belief system that was very close to the one taught by Messiah after baptism. Thus, John was an appropriate chose for the human ceremony of water baptism - and was endorsed by the Father verbally. |

His mother Ann was well past her time of being able to conceive. Ann's husband was visited by angels and told that his wife would conceive, when he did not believe he was stuck dumb(unable to speak). John's birth resembles the story of Abraham and Sarah giving birth to Isaac. Sarah was also well past the time of being able to conceive. Angels also visited Abraham to announce the birth of Isaac. The similarities are stressed to know that what occurred was truly G-d's Will. John was the last prophet of the Old Testament, Jesus was the first of the New Testament. It is only proper that the last should baptize the first. Jesus (the Word of God) was the beginning (the New Testament) and the last (the fulfillment of the Old Testament). |
