It's weird the dislikes return after watching a video for around 10 second.

First it's 5 million likes for this:

then after ten seconds it's only 1,6 million likes and 3,4 million dislikes.

Youtube has had a lot of glitches throughout the years, this is just another glitch.

Yeah, for *most* videos the dislikes seem to load after ~15-20 seconds of watching.

For a few I could not get dislikes to load, tho.

Seems they are having some kind of like/dislike engine 'latency' problems.

Ok people you can bring out the tomatos for the moment, but keep them near the bunker because this glitch can be the start of Doom, Defcon 2 definitely.

Maybe 'they' are planning an event which will be publicised via youtube, an event to which they only want a positive reaction.

I liked more the YT-comment likes and dislikes, THAT was more interesting, you could destroy your opponent with many red dislikes, pity that they took it away.

What's the point in disliking a video?

A rating system in general reflects how "good" something is by how many high votes it has rather than an average score. Most sites that incorporate some sort of ranking system use an algorithm to give a beneficial value to negative ratings (i.e. a video with 70\30 likes\dislikes is considered "hot" because people are taking the time to dislike it rather than ignore it or move on).

It's just funny how many trolls think disliking a video ruins it. I mean, if I see a video that has a 70\30 ratio, I think people are mad about the content rather than the quality of the video itself and that it might be worth watching.

I guess the same applies to GLP ratings. If something has 20 votes and a 3 star rating, I assume it's a really active thread and worth at least skimming through.

I agree. I think that's why 3 star threads are best because then you get opposing views on whatever the topic is.

A commit to the code probably contained an error that disrupted the like/dislike functionality in the production environment.

OR

They simply may be trying out new functionality, not worrying how it affects the likes/dislikes.

No telling honestly, but if you look at it from a Developers standpoint it's probably some code error that made it out of the dev environment into the live/production environment.

Who wants a dislike button anyway. They rarely leave any comments or reasons why they disliked it . Likes speak for themselves. I would like to respond to dislikes with a fuck you button.
