Yes, Obama tried to make NASA's main mission to make muslims feel as though their contributions (whatever that might be since they are anti-technology) to space exploration were just great!

Must not offend his muslim brothers no matter what!

I also suspect Obama told them not to bother him no matter what happened because he needed his sleep for campaign the next day and went to bed.

But outsourcing security to the ones from whom it is needed is just insanity.

Did anybody else think that her ridiculous outburst was so phony and staged? She seemed to be going along quite reasonably giving non-answer answers like most politicians do, and then suddenly she erupted and became so animated.

My first thought was she is just a touch insane... and I still can not understand what happened to lead up to her asinine outburst. Was trying to look like a human being with emotions?

I tend to think insane also but I really think their is more to it then that and that's just the reasoning my mind can settle on. She is if nothing else a sociopath and a pathalogical liver the whole statement is a contradiction in terms. Her words echo and haunt my mind and to be honest the first time I heard it I was shocked for a moment, speechless, because to me it makes ALL the difference in the world.

I found the outburst itself misplaced. It was like someone was speaking in her ear and advised her to display some kind of "emotion." Being what she is she got angry and defensive. Whatever was her problem that day she did herself no favors.

I went looking for articles to know more about her before she was first lady. She is a despicable character and once you wade through the adoring press, those who know her best hate her most.

And now it sounds like he wants to do the same type of thing in Syria. Give weapons to the same group of people that we'd be fighting in a different geographic location. It doesn't make any sense.

Gotta love how this bunch was outfitted, too. Why isn't a full blown investigation done to show where these US military weapons came from? Some in this country need to do some hard federal time for this.

I have read that the "space Coast" of Florida has been hit very hard with lay-offs in the space industry and have also read that Americans are being replaced by muslims, not necessarily americans, what the hell?

I still blame the media for giving up their primary function to keep our politicians "honest." How can you hold someone's feet to the fire when you go to bed with those pols every night?

The media are paid wh*res who come extremely cheap.

I have friends who work out there. Those who are lucky enough to still have jobs jokingly refer to the Kennedy Space Center as the "Kennedy Space Museum." It's very true. Formerly active facilities like the VAB and LCC are now tourist stops.

They're working towards a new rocket, basically a redesign of ARES-V as the DIRECT option, but as currently planned they'll only be doing one manned launch every other year (with cargo launches in the intervening years) once fully operational... in about a decade.

In the meantime, the space coast is dying. I've gone to some of the unmanned launches and photographed them from across the Indian river. It used to be during shuttle launches that you'd show up the day before and pick out your spot if you wanted to beat everyone else and have the best spot. You'd see maybe one homeless guy laying around the park somewhere, but that was it. Now you go there the day of the launch and the only competition you have for seating is the homeless population. They're there in groups now, but they couldn't care less about the launch. If you ask them which pad is which they can often tell you though; many of them used to work out there as support personnel.

What I want to know is why, even within just the realm of public outreach, "outreach to Muslim countries" was given priority over educating our own kids. Why is NASA partnering with "Angry Birds?" I guess that's NASA idea of "outreach" to our own people these days. If they wanted to partner with a game that's at least somewhat educational about spaceflight, why not do it with Kerbal Space Program? Kids would have loved it at least as much as Angry Birds and they might have actually learned something about orbital dynamics and spaceflight in the process! I swear, it's the intentional dumbing down of America.

Not really surprising to me that they intentionally let Americans die to avoid offending Muslims as well. I think it goes even deeper than that though.

This makes me sick. Now I am hearing that all new hires are muslim? I don't know whther to believe it or not because if the industry is "dying" how do they justify "new hires?" I find this whole episode very sad. Our space industry ws a step towards the future for all of us and we are handing it over to the most backwards among us to make them "feel good?" Sickening...
