From a strictly military perspective; I am deeply offended by these people letting our fellow Americans to die like that when we KNOW there were assets (help) available to repel the attackers. They knew within min's that an attack was going on. Such is the system of notification to State Department Security, CIA, DIA, and Operational Military commands (sea and land based) in the region.

Looking past political schemes and the like, and after leaving (abandoning) our troops in Vietnam over 2 Billion dollars (reparation) leaves a real craw in my throat.

Any veteran over the past 40 years will understand this if they are cognizant of the ramifications of leaving your people to die (especially if there is help available). I hope they (the perpetrators) have horrible nightmares of their part to play in the whole incident.

I know the security people involved are not happy (putting it mildly) as well as certain other elements within our governments' anti-terrorism program(s).

If you think they will abandon them in an emergency, what makes anyone think they will come to help in another national emergency or natural disaster of epic proportions?

Current national leadership is sorely lacking the essential elements to be successful.
