As horrible as it was, it seemed like maybe it was a brother, because of the ages. Thought maybe something had happened to the parents and he was left in care of the woman.

The man didn't even live there. The MOTHER was there. That she helped them load her for the ambulance means she wasn't incapacitated.

No, but either in this link or one of the others it was said that it reminded a person of the movie, "The Girl Next Door." It was on Netflix and I just watched it. Sorry I did. Won't be reading the book if it's comparable to the movie. How can people be so cruel?

Also, people that go out of their way to 'act' like they love animals always make me a bit suspicious, its like they are trying to prove something by claiming how much they love animals. I notice it a lot on forums, too. Its like the old reverse psychology trick, I love animals, I am not a psycho...

That is different than the calculating psychopath who tries to put on an act for others that they are a caring, gentle person who wouldn't harm a fly. Psychos are great actors. They often pretend to be animal lovers.

it does say the mother of the disabled woman helped load her into the ambulance, and that the conditions were not such that they felt they had to take the legal wolf-hybrids into protective custody.

the cages of the wolf dogs were covered with dried feces, but apparently they were healthy enough.

anyway, horrible as this all sounds, it points to the failure of treatment plans and oversight of agencies that serve the disabled.

if a disabled person is receiving money or any assistance of any kind from any governmental agency--local, state, or federal--there ought to be a case worker.

the case worker should SEE the client and their situation at least once every six months. i don't know what the official guidelines are, but it should never get to this point.

thankfully, the young woman, blind and disabled, will be somewhat rehabilitated by the facility she is now in.
