You think coins are not cash?

They don't have serial numbers so identifying them reliably would not be possible.

Paper notes could pass privately before arriving in your wallet - how are they going to deal with the "garage sale" cash transfers?

Only if they go to a cashless system, similiar to what South Africa tried a few decades ago.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1668632

They are going to scan for your real id...they are tracking YOU!
 Quoting: Fire Watch

Good catch. As i mentioned, the real id can be jiggered in an afternoon with a cheap printer. The code is in the clear - not encrypted. Therefore it can be spoofed.

hard to counterfeit coins - you have to do a whole huge run for very little return - not economical

where as many business' will not accept coins in mass

which means you buy very little

hopefully the whole system will collapse before this happens although, I think that is their aim - and then replace everything with the Real ID card so that you cannot buy and sell without it ...

however, from the dawn of time, one man has made and another man has gone around ...

One club up North sells you ribbons.
Red = $5.00
Blue = $2.00
Yellow = $1.00

You can even buy them (the ribbons) with a credit card.

When it was suggested that people should show photo ID in order to vote the libs cried racism because poor people can't afford to get ID's. Maybe foodstamp cards will be exempt from this.

In Wisconsin, they made State-issued ID's free if the person claimed they only needed it to vote.
I imagine they would do the same thing here.
I really don't know.

I've been getting suspicious since the self-checkout machines have become more widespread.

When I was a kid, I remember only one store had the change counters. Now it seems all of them do. Using a credit card was kind of a hassle.

Some stores have started using PayPal Here, which just creeps the fuck out of me. I'm anticipating that soon you'll be able to link your checking account to checkout with just your phone number and pin.

And by pin I mean driver's license.
And by driver's license I mean fingerprint.
And by fingerprint I mean your RFID chip.

Re: Senate Sub-committee leak: Cash to be tracked whenever and wherever it is spent- ID to be required.
This is where it gets interesting. The government wants to eliminate the use of cash since they cannot currently track cash. By pushing everyone into using electronic money (ATM cards) they can track all purchases especially for tax purposes.

There are discussions in financial circles about banks using negative interest rates. This way if you turnin $100 to your account, $2 is taken by the bank to support their operations. Therefore, you only have $98 to spend. The only way around this electronic theft is to use cash. However, the government wants to ban cash to force people to place their money in banks.

Once again government is use the threat of safety and security to pass laws that restrict our freedoms, steal our money and force use to pay the bankers.

So basically this will require the RFID chip on all I.D.s and everything paid for with cash will be linked to us. Look out if you're on welfare and claimimg you're broke! Each one of us will have a nice lil spending portfolio attached to enable cross-checking to health insurance too! Sorry smokers!

A former student of mine works for one of our US Senators.

This person informed me today that a certain sub-committee on competitiveness
has commissioned a study on the feasibility of scanning cash every time it is exchanged.

A scan of your real ID will be required to lawfully purchase with cash.

The stated goal is to eliminate terrorist funding,
counterfeit currency, and illegal drug trafficking.

One suggestion tossed about in committee would 'tag' certain bills as known drug money
and they would be rejected at the point of purchase.

Either way, everything purchased with a particular bill will be cataloged if this legislation makes it to law.

Sorry you tyrants in the Senate - too late!!!

BTW, ATF: there's 300 million guns in the US - how many accurate gun registrations do you have on file?

NOT 300,000,000 OR EVEN CLOSE YOU THUGS!!!

The American people are on to you and lots of guns have been purchased private sale. With Cash. Too late, F Troop.

So fucking what! There will always be a black market even if pushed out of cash, you can always buy legitimate goods with real ID and trade the goods for black market goods, trade and barter as the black market should be. Nice to see we are going back to the old ways.

They aren't trying to band aid anything. There is a greater purpose than dealing with terrorism and illegal drug money.

The elite profit from illegal drug money. They are also the cause of easily 75% of terrorism. Therefore, this feasibility study has a broader purpose that isn't being mentioned.

This shouldn't worry anyone. The feds cant do anything right. This will be as insufficient as any other government program. Why do liberals keep thinking the government is the solver of lifes problems when they only make the problems worse?

When stores begin rejecting your money just use it on the black market. Problem solved. If they don't want my money I will find someone who does.

If this is true then they should go after all the big banks that launder drug money. Always trying to put band aids on things instead of going to the root of the problem. This means to me they really have an alterior motive.
