Anonymous Coward User ID: 21082647 United States 05/03/2013 08:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It might work okay for peeing (if you're a woman), but I'd be worried about the smell and possible germs from the poop-stained washcloths. Some women use fabric pads during that time of the month, and use this method. They rinse the pads out first, then soak them in bleach water until they're washed in the laundry. Supposedly it works, and without any odors. Maybe the poop-stained washcloths could be rinsed first? I'm female, and if I was going to do this, I'd just use toilet paper after I poop, and use washcloths after I pee. That would still save a lot on toilet paper, because people normally pee more often than they poop. And it wouldn't be as nasty to deal with. |

Much more sanitary 2- you can make toilet paper from autumn dried leaves. Soak them to be mushy, with a rolling pin, roll it thin onto some towels and let dry, cut into sheets to use 3- another thought would be to have your cloths in a mild soapy water solution before using, then into the diaper pail after use. Easier to wash afterwards |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39260320 Dyes aren't healthy, and as a woman with a lot of supersensitive areas that can absorb dyes, I would feel more comfortable with white. Also, you can tell when a white washcloth is clean more easily than any other color. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 34604212 United States 05/03/2013 08:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good point! I wouldn't need a whole washcloth. .25 the size of a regular washcloth should suffice for most things, but the edges would have to be bound so it doesn't unravel in the washer. But I could wash more in the washing machine at once. You're a natural economist. |

You may get lucky and along with the free cleaning you'll get a happy ending! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15444309 I know. Your washing machine will use more water cleaning the towels then you will cleaning your own body however. Quoting: Mr. Reality Perhaps, but I'm thinking about overall cost. If I save enough cloths to make a decent load, it might be more cost efficient than TP. True. TP is just so easy, so that's why we pay for it. If saving money is your game then you should try making your own soap.
