The psalmist was talking about revenge - whilst not Godly in itself we must remember he was human as you or me.

The Babylons killed many of his people and destroyed his cities 'to the foundation' and so he sung about revenge.

Kind of irrelevant. The OT is the foundation for the New Testament. You guys may try to disown the stuff in the Law that sounds really bizarre or twisted, but the fact remains that there was a time when God required obedience to those directives. You can distance yourself from that stuff, but you can't distance God from it.

There's really no pleasing you fuckers. If someone doesn't know the bible, they get hassled for not having read it. And if they do read it and say "what the hell", they get hassled for not inherently understanding the spiritual application of the verse in question. Christers commonly flip-flop back & forth between "You can't understand it without he Holy Spirit!" and "The bible means what it says and says what it means!"
