If you want the "freedeom" to start a company and make money doing it, you generally start small and then as you build and expand, you'd go where there's still a profit margin to be had as well. Many companies can't keep their shareholders happy with all they need to conform to here. Don't get mad at the companies - get mad at the government, tax structure, et al. - or admit that Capitalism isn't the best structure anymore. After all, companies aren't in existence to provide jobs - but to create revenue for business owners and shareholders. |

Even though this is a very long list of American and other foreign corporations in China, it is certainly not a complete listing. We have only included a few of the names you may recognize. This is a list of companies who either own factories, or have contract factories producing their products in China. Some of the companies produce 100% of their products there, and others only produce parts, or certain ingredients for their products. The list below is approximately 1% of the actual Corporate list. Companies such as Avon, GE, and AT&T for example, have been in China and manufacturing products for 20 to 30 years. Most American consumers simply had no idea. Previously their source was Japan. Now Grown In China- Nearly 50% of all American apple products are now grown and processed in Mainland China according to government reports ending 2006 and again in 2007. We are surprised and terrified. ...not just because of the loss of jobs, but also our staff knows first hand how dangerous it is to grow and process ANY food products in China. |

It is shown on LINK tv now and again. All the brands mentioned are in there, in one form or another. We ceased to be a "country" sometime in the early 80's, IMHO . America is now a business. |

Quoting: CHL2T And of course THE BOTTOM LINE! Ya'know some of those regulations are a VERY GOOD THING. Not being able to dump chemicals in rivers. Having a worker die in the meat grinding machine being a newsworthy event instead of something that happens all the time. We can THANK regulations for that. You know how greedy companies can be...or maybe you don't. Those other countries need more regulations for safety, human rights and planetary reasons. Grow up. |
