I am debating between a handgun and a shotgun. Shotgun seems to be the cheaper alternative in initial price and the ammo is currently cheaper and more available. A handgun would be much more versatile though.

No kids so that isn't an issue, I have been leaning twoards a home defense shotgun I just don't like that I can't really take that to the range, haven't looked into prices yet but I would like one I could change the barrel out on and at least shoot some skeet with. Always remember the first three rules of a gunfight. 1. Bring a gun. 2. Bring a gun. 3. Bring a gun.
