As a soccer fan I think the precedant must be set to protect refs, there is absolutely no need for an incident like this. Perhaps the parents never practiced or taught respect for elders. With many parents trying to be "friends" with their children, I am afraid that this is the end result that is achieved. Um... Many be the dead man was never taught how to handle him self around juveniles? I mean, this doesnt explain the entire story... the kid (and i mean KID) could have been taunted by the coach. I mean, come on... look at his track record. He had already pissed off some one else so bad they broke his ribs, then later ran his mouth until he got his leg broken. Teens are very prone to hormone induced anger. Maybe this KID was just being a KID like most KIDS through life. There is always 2 sides to a story, the coaches history speaks volumes. Doesn't matter in the slightest if the kid didn't like the refs tone or demeanor. You don't get to punch someone in the face over a call you don't life. If you choose to do so, you face the consequences of your actions. You refer to this kid as though he were 5 instead of 17. He needs to be charged as an adult and sentenced appropriately in order for the family of the VICTIM to get some measure of justice. |

Your response is leading me to believe that you may have been bullied as a child and therefore have a skewed perspective on this situation. He is a REF, he has a specific reason for being there. This "KID" was def old enough to knock a man into a coma and evidently kill him. If i murder someone tmr, no matter who or how, i will end up in jail for quite some time. He should be punished to the fullest extent of the death penalty. |

That's not justice. Makes much more sense to go a restorative justice route. The victims family needs closure, not blood. And while there is no way in hell he should get off free, the people calling for him to get the death penalty sound like a bunch of retarded hillbillies. Doesn't matter what context you want to put this in anyways, its pretty much voluntary manslaughter possibly could extend it second degree maybe. Either way he won't get the death penalty despite what you want. Come at me bros. |
