Yes, you are correct, IF POSSIBLE, even the elect would be deceived. Which it, obviously, is NOT.

But the point here is that the "deception" is so total, so complete, so - logical and good-sounding - that the very elect (God's chosen from before the foundations of the world) could even be sucked in to believing the lies.

God has said that ...for that reason... He will shorten the days of the deception. Even the elect will forget, apparently, what He has taught and said about His returning in the End TImes.

To me, it means that the appearance of the "return" and "the end times" will seem to be Christ's returning, but won't be, but even the elect will be fooled by it.

I suspect there will be Illusions in the Sky, lots of "Two Witnesses" brought back from the dead, etc. to fool folks.

As it is, people nowadays do not want to hear sound doctrine, but want their "ears tickled" and THAT - to me - is the falling away.....from sound doctrine and into cults, misinformation, and false doctrines.

No, I do not believe the "elect" will be hidden away during the tribulations. I believe they will KNOW God's Word, and the TRUTH shall keep them safe, and GROUNDED, so they don't fall for the lies.

It's happening now, today. Many, many churches teaching false doctrines, no hell, everyone is good enough b/c "God is Love," blah, blah. THose who choose to believe those lies are fallen away, being deceived and will NOT see heaven.

Keeping yourself IN GOD'S WORD so you can quote it scripture and verse keeps you grounded, and gives you WHOLE TRUTH so you're not falling for lies, and being tossed to and fro - the scripture says.

No I think it says that the elect would be deceived IF it were possible, even the 'elect' would be, IF IT WERE possible, but that is confusing because it is saying, then, that there are certain few people that it is NOT POSSIBLE to DECEIVE.
my thought to add to that biblical verse is, this is not talking about elect people being murdered, that is not the same as being DECEIVED.

They can still be murdered, and will be, possibly, if they do not prepare, or if they fall into the hands of real reprobates. But they will not be deceived, if they are the elect.

And to answer the question about any thoughts about elect and being deceived, and what it may be, that huge and overwhelming deception, what it is.

People have to study. Not go to church, but read their history and the history of religion, and their bibles. On their OWN.

They should be reading what is written by others, their opinions, and their studies, which may illuminate and may confuse the issues, but not to read, not to study, is to really ASK for being DECEIVED.

The worst kind of believer is a believer in the law. Because in their darkest hours, the law will fail them, but love will not.

People by the millions, billions, are being deceived, right now. Just because they are following other people, called Pastors, Preacher, Minister, Priest of Churches, they have put their trust in men, which are shepherds who are leading them into the pit/abyss, with lies, fables, and traditions of men, which will cause them to stumble and fall into the snare which the devil has laid for them all. It will look so good, so true, and so mirACULOUS, and they will all go with that, because it is what they all believe. Who would go against that, the miracles, the majority, all their family, friends, and leaders in their chosen churches? All the churches??? Who would dare to think these people, these billions, or their own families, their elders, so recognised in the arena of religion, and good works, would be WRONG?

The cults, misinformation and false doctrines have been the norm for some time now - they aren't something people are going to led away into. Churches are largely Babylonian welcome centers. Laodicea is alive and well, and just like the Pharisees, no one realizes that they're in bondage.

If we were to develop a focus on core issues like the Sermon on the Mount, and give the whole End Times hysteria a rest, we'd be a lot more functional. If we could learn to deny ourselves a little, die daily, etc., we might just end up with a proper perspective on all the Tribulation nonsense, and not be so spellbound by it.

I've read the Bible multiple times. I could just about quote any verse from it whenever I want to. I understand all of the stories and allegories as far as the book is gonna take me...the only way to progress further is to stop putting my nose in the book and start putting it into practice. I have this cousin who just got baptized and his wife, who thinks she's God's Warrior and fights constantly with people over Christianity. She's about as theologically adept as I was when I first started...but she thinks she knows EVERYTHING because IT'S IN THE BIBLE!! But she doesn't obviously understand PERSONAL REVELATION, and that's where the big retardation comes in Christianity...they rely so much on the "word" (not "The Word") and on their pastor. No personal relationship whatsoever...just a bunch of prayers, good intent (but bad reactions), and foaming at the mouth. :)

Love will not fail, you are right, but if we are talking of the love of the Creators of humanity, for humanity, that will not fail, ever, and maybe the love of the elect for the Creators Who are real, and the rest of humanity which is pitifully lost without leaders and good shepherds (therefore their prayers are continual for their brothers) but the twisted thing here is that the deception will hinge on LOVE or the feeling OF love, which is deliberate and successful exploitation of the people in the area of religion, and this has always worked on the masses and even been the bane of the few, the rare who study enough to be perplexed by this issue; it vexes those who study enough to know there is an issue, which the masses don't even know - they don't even know there is even AN ISSUE or a debate. They would know if they read the Bible, that the issue at hand here in the last days is the same as it was in exekiel, and all along: that is the issue of Who will one align oneself with: The Solar Deity and his 3 main persons, (the trinity) or the Beings Who identify themselves by name, whose name is essential to their knowledge and their nature, IAUE and IAU-shua, or Yahueh (Yahweh) and Yahushua.

Which is never taught in Church, the vital distinct differences between this duo in Creation, and the ancient, apostatic triune Godhead of Solar Deity worship.

Which also haas the Christ, or saviour-figure, which the world has been taught is the religion of the Bible, but it is not the religion of the Bible. This is the deception.

I'd say you answered your own question quite well and i agree with you, God is in our hearts and perhaps many will be so caught up in so much going on around them they will miss that one fine connection we all have. I must tell you though that I'm more of a "Godian" than a "Jesian" LOL but I do like the words Jesus actually said and read them from time to time. i don't think He wanted us to worship Him like He was God Himself and build huge Churches around Him. Everyone is entitled to think as they will though, of course.

No, of course he is not saying that. People who are totally unable to know correct doctrine and truths which could save them, are fooled all the time. They often die before they learn they have been fooled. Babies die. (According to the Universal ('The Catholic') Church, they will not go to heaven if they have not been christened, or baptised with holy water from the Church!) But sane individuals know that any Church which teaches that crap is from hell itself, and its doctrines are from hell. Of course the people will not go to hell if they didn't know and couldn't do anything about their situation of ignorance and they died because of being helpless to save themselves, they died ignorant of the truth, the facts.

Now, if a person who has been taught lies (in doctrines) in Church is given chances and information which is provable to be correct, and it flies in the face of the things he has been taught are the Church's doctrines, and he or she continues to do nothing about that, and continues to ignore the truth and go to church anyway, and never looks for more truth, never digs deeper, and never talks about these things, and even scoffs at the truth, and stays entrenched in the Church lies, ... well, there is a Judge Who is going to require everything at a certain time when the resurrection happens. He knows all, knows why we did things, and the outcome is one only He and Yahueh know. It is going to be fair, and going to be merciful, thank Yah - Yah, (IAUE) Who knows all, and made us all for love, and for communion, will be as always, merciful and fair. He/They, are both truthful, and require us to love them and love truth, and if we don't know them, we did not have the chance to know truth. They will not hold that against us.

What it implies is that many will be gnashing their teeth, and realize they made the wrong decision. A decision implies inherently, that they had the opportunity to find out and to go with the truth, or to choose the lies.

A decision people will regret with tears, which got them cast into outer darkness, away from their Creators, IAUE and IAU-shua (Yahweh and Yahushua) was made by them, on an ongoing basis, I guess, (continual chances were given, over and over, the opportunity was given, and rejected by these people, who were able to get the facts, the proven truths, but did not like them, or want to upset their lives in that way and lose position). A decision was made consciously by able-minded men and women, or teens of a sound mind - (this is not everyone in this poisoned, drugged, and mentally-disabled society by the way) to choose the Lie - over the Truth, of Who to worship, and Who to call 'Creator'.

The crux of the matter is this. Who will worship and who will not worship who they prove to be the Creators of the Bible (the others who do not have the Bible are another group) and Who will insist on worshipping the Solar God, and the Solar Christ (The Anti-Christ), which we are warned about in those pages.

Most of the Churches as far as I can tell, teach the Anti-Christ, (A Solar Saviour-figure) and not the actual Biblical Messiah from IAUE, Who is the Father of the Messiah, and they preach the ancient Solar Deity doctrine that the Father IS the Son, and the Son IS REALLY THE FATHER, and they also have a 3rd person, (called Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, who is always historically feminine by the way) which is totally AGAINST the Biblical truths taught all thru the Bible.

Find the other passages that contain the same word used for "deceive" - you'll find it actually means "lead astray".

THE MAIN USE IS ABOUT THE "RESURRECTION". READ CAREFULLY WHAT HE TELLS THE SADDUCEES ABOUT THE RESURRECTION.

The poor person who said above that belief in Jesus is the way is also a victim of the false doctrine of religion, according to the Bible - and is sadly, representative of the majority of people who adhere to Solar Deity religion unless - UNLESS - he or she knows that the Messiah they call Jesus was not born on the Christmas and not resurrected at a festival called Easter.

Not saying that the Biblical saviour, the Real Messiah, was not resurrected - but he wasn't resurrected on Sunday, and it wasn't connected at all to a Goddess called Easter, but after 3 days and 3 nights after being murdered after that last supper with his disciples on the Passover.
