Schizophrenia and bipolar And spirituality
Regardless of religion these mental disorders effect millions of humans throughout the world . I myself have been diagnosed as bipolar with manic tendencies. I consider myself a Christian Buddhist. With that being said I often wonder how many people in history who were in tune with god today would be considered mentally ill. My therapist says most patients of his who hear voices hear negative voices but I know a schizophreni. Who hears songs a d words of positive encouragement. So where does all of this stem from is it a matter of brain chemistry or a matter of spiritual progression and if its the latter what's the point

i think Nihilists are mentally ill. they believe a pea exploded in space and they came from lampreys. -- and that the dollhouse will last forever. they like the macabre, mundane flatness of the construct due to their fear of dimensional swimming in the Cosmos.

I remember a state of mind in which i considered myself bipolar as well and indeed i was because all the solutions to my perceived emptiness i got from the outside world(maybe due to external bipolar conditions in which we reside in our bodies and on earth). Suddenly after diving hard into these physical solutions i finally ask for help from a place that resided in my heart. it took trial after trial(drugs, sex, prescribe drugs((ie:antidepressants, antianxiety)), money, fame, relationships, fixation with looks (solutions of the mind) to get to that place in my heart where a Savior is seated. I finally dropped to my knees exhausted of external help and asked Infinite One to come into my heart. Let me just say it was granted instantly and with that I familiarized mySELF with a place residing within that is my infinite answer to all things and with that I can bring HEAVEN TO EARTH

What I believe is that people who are schizophrenic are not crazy but have opened a doorway into communicating to other dimensions. It is related to energy, doctors say it is chemical that influences the brain with the outcome of hearing voices, seeing spirits and so on. But the medical world might be turned all upside down when they discover that the chemical change in the brain is not the result of a sickness, but the result of a change in energy in the mental body that will influence the energy centres which are connected to the glands that produce hormones. So the change of chemical is a result of energy change, it is not a sickness but a normal state that at one stage people go through. Telepathy is pretty common in the spiritual world. Since we are getting back higher up in vibration it is normal that we will get back into mental communication. It might be hard to deal with things like schizophrenia and clearvoyance, but it has nothing to do with being crazy.

Norman Bergrun (Ringmakers of Saturn) has a son that is Schizophrenic.

He says Schizophrenia is just another universe.

Perhaps one that we fail to understand, appreciate, accommodate and accept.

Re: Schizophrenia and bipolar And spirituality
Netherlands, I think that too. They have an opening in their being that allows them to be in two places at once. They can be talking to you but they can also feel or receive thoughts from a higher source.

I think people just receive labels too easily nowadays. Someone tells them they're bi-polar or schizophrenic and that's it they just take it and end up on medicine. Medicine which most of the time doesn't do crap for them except medicate them and lower their vibration.

What most, though not all, need is to live walking between those two worlds and learn how to deal the best they can. As they walk thru, at some point some of their stuff will end. They will have reached some higher level, however small, and if they're spiritually inclined. And they will be able to live better.

People need to go thru and walk thru experiences that affect their every day lives and not kow tow to the stupidity that most of psychiatry has become. There are too many factors that cause people to be on a high or a low and we should look at those and look at our environment and allow ourselves our emotions, even if violent. Conflict and violent emotions also have to be expressed. I'm not saying go out there and hurt or kill, not that. But we have ups and downs in our emotional life. That's normal.

It just seems so many people that search for types of 'enlightenment' end up going mental.

Why is this? GLP is a great venue to see this in action thanks to certain memes that run through the forum. Many posters volunteer that they have been institutionalized while in the midst of seeking.

They already know this. The truth does not sell them pills or keep them in control. The more people that wake up to the truth the less control they will have.

I have been wondering this often myself the last few months OP. How many whom society calls crazy people might just be more awake than others. There is a reason that their "meds" never worked on me. They were not supposed to. My brain is fine just the way it is. I learned long ago that environment has a heck of a lot more to do with mental stability than "chemical imbalances." Their system and environment they have created for us, what they say is the "norm" is actually quite toxic to more open people. We are pushed constantly to become part of the herd.

Cheers OP! You are alright!

Re: Schizophrenia and bipolar And spirituality
Look I'm just going to come out and say this because it NEEDS to be posted somewhere on the Internet. I am the daughter of a paranoid schizophrenic who has delusions of grandeur and swears the government is following him and knows who he is, and wants to kill him etc. He talks about mind control and government control. Hearing that all of my life I could say he is a brilliant man. I could agree that a lot of what he says could be true. But for ANYONE to say that he is not ill, and maybe he is seeing the real truth is wrong. Schizophrenic, narcissistic, sociopathic and manic people are ill. I came to this site after watching Tila Tequila, whose rants remind me a lot of my fathers, and let me tell you why she and he are ill. If God and the Truth were really in these people, as they were in saints of the past and in Jesus, it would not be difficult. It does not hurt. It does not make your mind spin. When God speaks you do not feel afraid or the need to go ranting to get attention, you KNOW it's Him. God speaks in SILENCE. The reason this world is so lost is because people don't even know who God is anymore. "Be still and know that I am God". Silence is not just tuning out the noises outside. It's learning how to sit still, control and silence the thoughts in your head as well. God is beyond "needing to go to work, needing to pay your bills, needing to find a partner, needing to be noticed etc" There in lies the ego. My father does not know how to be still. His mind is constantly spinning as do the thoughts of most individuals with psychological issues. And what happens is this, thoughts create feelings and then we are attuned to believe that that is the Truth. But guess what, Thoughts can LIE! So if thoughts lie than what you're feeling is also a lie! Crazy huh? I know what racing thoughts feel like as I am a sufferer of anxiety and it is not pleasant. But when I MEDITATE and I focus on silence and God. I try to stop my thoughts, an overwhelming sense of peace comes over me. That is God. If you continue to mediate to pray and to read God's word. Whether it be through the bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the Koran etc. they all say the same thing. God is love, love each other, this world is temporary but there is a part of us that is immortal. Focus on that part and all the worries, anxieties, and fears melt away. SIMPLICITY and HUMILITY are the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Or everlasting happiness and light. When God speaks, you feel these truths. The more you are in touch with the truth and are centered. The more you do not follow the trails of thought and the EGO aka SATAN, and you can actually feel and decipher the voice of God.

In a nutshell: People with psychological issues have racing thoughts created by the mind that they believe and follow. People who can actually speak to God are at peace in their minds so they can feel with their hearts. A prophet will not rant on for hours in a crazed state, He will be so centered and at peace that when you stand next to him, you will feel it too.

well, you said it with "in a nutshell". sums up you're entire theory for me, and im schizoaffective. its some halfassed attempt to classify a bipolar with a schizo.

youre opinions are harshly biased, if youre not a disinfo agent spreading half truths then you are certainly not seeing the bigger picture. "people with psychological issues" dont all feel or act the same way at all. off meds some are better while some need to rot in prison and are fine with the notion, i know this from personal experience being in a maximim security prison/psych hospital.

we're awake in all kinds of ways. we're not all gonna shoot up a school or movie thearter. some of us dont care enough to do that, let alone save humanity, which is more my inclination. but case in point this is why i keep my opinions to myself usually- people are braindead and crazys arent much better off.

why be the spiritual guide to sheeple? i'll stick to my studies.5a

Re: Schizophrenia and bipolar And spirituality
I did not mean to classify every psychological issue into the same category, I realize they are different. I was only trying to say that most things we experience are in the mind. Just thoughts, hormones, and emotions, maybe even hallucinations. And the mind can be tricky wanting us to believe that is who we are. And if hallucinations come from some other dimension or something, it'd probably be good to access if they are helping or hurting. Haha

The soul knows no good or bad emotion, it only experiences and lives in the eternal NOW. No past or future, just occurrences, and it is at peace. And I believe that is where God talks, in peace. This definitely isn't my theory and I'm not taking credit for it and I'm not trying to convince anyone. I usually keep my opinions to myself as well haha I just think there is a difference between spirituality and mental disorders. In my experience mental disorders are not very peaceful.

This had me thinking of a conversation I had with my mom yesterday. I try to give her bits and pieces of what I believe and what I have experienced in my current state of spiritual awakening. When I reached the topic of religion and how it has done nothing for me but turn me away, she started saying that I needed to check into a mental institute a la 5150. I then brought up how the "authors" of the DSM-V have found ways to categorize everyone to have a mental illness. How can we fight this?!

Re: Schizophrenia and bipolar And spirituality
I think the brain is just another organ which might get glitchy & hangs sometimes ; sometimes you cannot explain or describe a "mentally" ill person with anything else, because obviously his/her mind is damaged.

Though ; there is a big difference between illness & reality. I hear voices, but these are thoughts ; I tend to think like that inside my mind, like when there is something debatable I would discuss it inside my brain just as if a person in front of me is asking me questions. I know I'm sane because "I CONTROL THIS".

But when you can't control your imagination, and it gets you in trouble, you start to believe your imaginary talks are real, then that cannot be described as anything other than "illness".

One of the best posts I have read in a very long time!
Kudos to you for beating it!
My 14 year old daughter was "diagnosed" as bi-polar by a so-called child psychiatrist. But his diagnosis didn't "feel right" with me. He insisted on Depakote medication! I REFUSED!! (I am in the medical field and I KNOW what these medications do)
Two other doctors at different facilities could not agree! Spend one year in hell, trying to figure out what is going on with my beautiful, sweet and very intelligent daughter! Just two months ago, I reached a point of no more of this quackery!
My very deeply spiritual Mom (87 years old)suggested over and over again to let it go, and two months ago I did! I let it go with deep heart felt prayers and conversations with the Creator. I can honestly tell you that my daughter is no longer acting "bi-polar"

BTW, during the times that she was acting up, I had a very strong feeling that she was being "attacked" by something...
