Why do people watch basketball?

it beats the hell outta baseball.

Back in high school, playing baseball was fun. And it didn't involve touching sweaty dudes.

That said, I'd probably still get bored watching it.

Really? Soccer aka football in the UK has to be the most boring ridiculous sport to watch ever. Scoring is infrequent and the poor players are forced to only use their feet. Might as well watch Irish dancing for that kind of stuff.

Basketball has a lot of great athletic moves like dunking and plenty of drama in close games that go down to the wire. The playoff scheme can be pretty exciting as well. I'd say only American football is more interesting in the sports world.

I agree though that baseball is mind numbing and boring, both to play and watch.

I've played ball my whole life enjoy watching it to. Play at the collegiate level. It's one of the most competitive things you can do. What do you do that is even remotely exciting??

Boring? OK if watching a Man fly and seeing scoring consistently every 15 seconds is boring you need to stop taking speed.

Listen to sports talk radio you'll want to blow your brains out after 5 seconds

After some games you start to become familiar with the mismatches, you start to see the patterns of the plays the offense and defense are running, you start yo understand the value and game changing potential of the sixth man who can come off the bench and change everything and you start to see the battle of wills when teams are convinced that they are better than each other no matter what the score is.

I don't bother watching blowouts myself though. If one team is too far superior tan I don't watch.

Basketball is an awesome game to watch.

Sports talk radio is god depending on the show. When the hosts are reporters its good but when they are personalities who can't explain politics and stats and transactions then yes its boring.

If they talk about Tim Tebow for more than four minutes turn it off.
