LOL...this thread made Ure's site: [ link to urbansurvival.com] "It only took about 2½ hours from yesterday's post about Nostracodeus coming up with "asteroid" as a new hot word for a post to show up over at the Godlike Productions site under the none too reassuring title "Four Siren Alert: Eight Days to Impact" which goes into how a "dark comet" was supposedly going to impact Earth shortly.
So, I asked our source in Hawaii to pass it along to the newsroom and see what gives. After point out there are lots of PTB trolls out and about, how this is likely dis-info, and a decent lecture about asteroid searches he got into some interesting stuff:
"Second: Near Earth asteroids are not found by the Keck telescope. It's much too large and busy with other deep observations to be scanning for asteroids/comets. Asteroids are found by small, wide angle telescopes (11-inch, in some cases!) in the Near Earth Asteroid Threat system (NEAT) that look at wide swaths of sky and 'blink' multiple exposures to find something that moves against the background stars. If the Keck was actually used to examine a threat, the asteroid was found much earlier by the NEAT system and was never published. "URE-LOL... That guy has been calling for deflation since Benny started up the printing presses!!!
