I was just pointing out that the law could be twisted and exploited if it ever happened, that the next arguement after that would be "I pay more than you do, so my vote should count more than yours"

Your assuming the voting system isn't a rigged farce...

Everybody pays sales tax. Everyone employed pays payroll tax. Renters pay property taxes indirectly. Having no income tax liability does not mean one is on welfare. This neocon talking point myth needs to go.

As if that were only tax paid. Get real. Not all decisions are based on money. So if you happen to be disabled you shouldn't be able to vote even though you paid in for years?

As Bummer says... You need skin in the game and those illegals on the dole do not have any stakes. Neither do they pay income taxes for the most part. But they milk the trough quite empty.

There used to be tests that had to be taken before one could vote to see if they were competent.

The problem is that the vote was originally set up so that only land owners could vote (look it up) but that was not 'fair' to the burgeoning urban dwellers who needed a voice to clean out the corruption in the larger urban area's political enclaves.

A return to that system would likely mean even more corruption. Does anyone really think we neeed more of that?

But while we're doing all this wishful thinking, why not just make it illegal for anyone who enacts laws to allow themselves a waiver from being accountable under that law?

Anyone that has a job through a government contract should not be allowed to vote. I see this job as a bribe by the government.

So if you work for any schools, police,fire,military anything. No voting.

If you contract that means if you build for the government and your employees work on that jobsite. No vote.

If you do any government work of ANY KIND. You don't get a vote. The government took money from us to bribe you for your vote.
