Wait... What? Thank who, the JW? You are kidding right?

Even so, they have no right to come to my house and talk about something, if I the owner of the house, didn't invited them. They can stop you on the street and talk about their religion (as they did with me the first time), OK, I can deal with it. But to come to my house and interrupt me? No they have no right.

And also they have no right to try to proselytize minors (also something they tried to do with me).
 Quoting: BlavkRabbit

If you don't want them(or anyone else) knocking on your door you can put up a no trespassing sign. Other than that, people have the right to come on your property to talk to you or even sell you things(Avon Lady, people selling meat or whatever, etc). Don't want people there? Put up a sign. Then there is no reason to be rude to anyone.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123

I was never rude to them and I already have a sign, didn't work.

And how about proselytizing minors?
 Quoting: BlavkRabbit

If the parents say it is ok for someone to study the Bible with their child then I have no problem with it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1550123

At that time I wasn't with an adult, I was 15 years old with 2 other friends of mine in the same age. Though we were 15, both the 3 of us looked younger. Even if it's not illegal to proselytize minors, I can't understand their moral views on this incident.

And like I said in a previous post, I have put a sign, didn't work.

Great response! I escaped from them in 1999. I was sitting one of their [many] meetings one day and literally just snapped out of it. I looked around at all of the people in the congregation and how robotic and fake everyone was and quickly got my coat and left. Never went back to the Kingdumb Hall after that.

I just meet them at the door with my handgun i don't have much of a problem with them lmao. To a weak minded person their riddles make them very dangerous. I have no time for that kind of shit.

They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a tellar but for want of an understanding ear.” Stephen King

A 15 year old should be old enough to know if they want to study the Bible or not. I went to a Bible study at my school when I was that age. I liked to explore different beliefs. Had friends of many faiths as well. I believe studying the Bible is the least problematic thing a young person could be doing today.

A 15 year old is still a minor, a kid. We both know that kids are easily convinced, no matter how much they study on religion. And like I said, we looked younger, so they thought they were trying to proselytize "12" year olds. They knew exactly what they were doing...

There is no excuse on their part.

I really couldn't imagine going to the door with a gun just for JW's or Mormons(I have had some really nice Mormon friends). It is like aiming a gun at a kitten.

If it is legal then it is legal. I am not judging anyone. And there are some very mature teens out there. Like I said, learning a bit about the Bible might be good for today youths who have almost no morals anymore.

And, look at what tax funded schools are doing to kids these days without permission. This one took a 15 year old to have an abortion without the parent knowing. The parent did sign a form but abortion wasn't listed.

Anyway, I think a teen studying the Bible is the least of our concerns.

BTW, if the parents don't know what their kids are up to then shame on the parent. That is really where the blame lies. And too many parents have become so self-centered that they don't raise kids anymore. They let schools and other people do it for them. And then they act incensed when their kids goes and does something the parent has a problem with. The key here is parents should know what their kids are doing.

The way I handled a JW the other day is different, We squared off in a boxing stance as most fights start on the feet. I could tell right away he was a better boxer, so I shot in for a double leg takedown and secured the side mount. I then started the ground and pound, he rolled onto his stomach to protect his face. At that point I secured a rear naked choke and put him out.
He was tougher than I expected though.

I'm a woman here by myself a very little one at that I can always tell when its a stranger because of the door they use. How the hell would I have any idea who they are before I open the door and I sure as shit ain't taken the chance. They can fuck off and if the gun makes them nervous they shouldn't be knocking on my door in the first place. I'm almost a mile outside of town and have every right to answer the door any way I please.

You don't seem to understand that there is a difference between a teen voluntarily studying the bible and a teen been proselytized by a cult.

Also in my country it is illegal for a minor to be proselytized by any religion without the consent of it's parents.

You should prepare pamphlets in advance containing your own ideas about life and then when they knock on the door again you should immediately push the pamphlets on them and thank them for stopping by to receive the good word. Hit them with a little of their own magic.

I would just advise not opening the door and just speaking through a window if you want to talk to them. And usually men with suits on are not there to break in but I do understand your trepidation.

The study article on Sunday in the watchtower you are made to study before you go for the Watchtower study, and you study and underline the answers that are already given to you from the paragraph ahead of time.

one time, I wanted to answer in my own words, and I was reprimanded in front of the whole congregation to stick to what the paragraph said. You are made to parrot the answers they give you from the paragraph, even though you see the error in it.

How about we learn to respect other people's religions when they honestly believe that they are looking out for our best interest... I don't understand why you would find the need to try and tear down that person's beliefs when she obviously seemed very happy and comfortable with them. That may have been over the top... and well, you know, as they say, a fanatic is always concealing a secret doubt.

I bet they would enjoy it. It would give them more to talk to the person about the next time they visited. They would at least see where the other person is coming from. Again, most people don't have many deep thoughts in their head anymore and rarely know how to carry on a conversation. Sigh.

Jehovahs witnesses are super obnoxious, and they mistreat their own members, when the member exhibit critical thinking, or decide to leave their cult.
They deserve rudeness when pushing their cult onto other people.

When brainwashing a new member, they tell the new member to stay away from their friends and family, if they are not JW's.

Also, if a JW member decides to leave their cult, that member is totally shunned by all other JW members.

These two attributes are definitive of cult behavior.

Re: How I handled a Jehovah's Witness the other day
There was a JW lady who kept coming to my house. I was polite because, well I'm polite. She took that to mean I was somehow interested, but I wasn't.

She'd come by every month or so, usually with another person. One time I happened to be standing behind her in the hardware store in our little town(she was with her daughter), and I asked her if she'd be interested in hearing my religious views. She looked at me like I was from another planet, so I asked her if she remembered how many times she'd shown up at my front door. She practically ran out of the store. Haven't seen her since.

BTW, she had what I'd call "crazy eyes", hard to explain, but you'd know it when you see it.

Re: How I handled a Jehovah's Witness the other day
JWs were at my door a few days ago. I hid behind the center island in my kitchen until they went away.
