How I handled a Jehovah's Witness the other day
I was waiting at a bus stop when a pretty lady (about 35 yr old) approached me and started to show me her Jehovah's Witness literature, the Watch Tower, and so on.
As soon as I saw that it was Jehovah's Witness material, I said right away, "Ahhh Jehovah's Witness, eh? You NEED to get out of that cult right away. It is VERY important that you leave it immediately. Religion across the board is man-made nonsense, however Jehovah's Witness is a shitty cult! It is a controlling, shitty cult. It is VERY important that you leave them right away and not look back".

That is what I say to JW's who approach me with their cultish material.

Great response! I escaped from them in 1999. I was sitting one of their [many] meetings one day and literally just snapped out of it. I looked around at all of the people in the congregation and how robotic and fake everyone was and quickly got my coat and left. Never went back to the Kingdumb Hall after that.

JWs were at my door a few days ago. I hid behind the center island in my kitchen until they went away.

Re: How I handled a Jehovah's Witness the other day
I was 15 with two friends of mine returning home when two 50 year old Jehovah's Witnesses tried to proselytize us. We sat there for quite some time, talked with them... actually they did the talking, gave us a greek copy of the Watch Tower, another magazine, their phone numbers and we left.

I didn't know wth Jehovah's Witness was, so I asked them quiestions and when I got home I didn't throw away the magazines but I (a functional dyslexic) read every single line the magazines had.

After having enough information about the religion, I said to myself "What a piece of crap. Can't they write better stories?"

And that's the story how I hooked myself on sci-fi, even stories about weird aliens, space traveling and mambo-jumbo bear like future offspring of the human race seemed more realistic than the Watch Tower.

Thank you Jehovah's Witnesses

She was quiet, smiling as I said JW is a shitty cult. Of course all JWs have been told that in some form.
Then at the tail end, she made some kind of sarcastic sounding "uh-huh" that sounded like a snobby librarian. I made the exact same snobby noise back at her, twice as loud. LOL

I find JWs invasive and annoying, and dangerous to the weak minded.

How about we learn to respect other people's religions when they honestly believe that they are looking out for our best interest... I don't understand why you would find the need to try and tear down that person's beliefs when she obviously seemed very happy and comfortable with them. That may have been over the top... and well, you know, as they say, a fanatic is always concealing a secret doubt.

They should respect other people's privacy though. I can't stand having them knocking on my door to proselytize me, if I wanted to be a JW I would go to them, not the other way around.

They have kept freedom of speech open for everyone because of their fight to keep door knocking and talking about the Bible. Thank them for that or else we wouldn't even have places like this forum to come to. If they were denied the right to go from door to door kiss the first amendment goodbye. They have done so much to keep us all from being denied freedom of speech and so much more.

Wait... What? Thank who, the JW? You are kidding right?

Even so, they have no right to come to my house and talk about something, if I the owner of the house, didn't invited them. They can stop you on the street and talk about their religion (as they did with me the first time), OK, I can deal with it. But to come to my house and interrupt me? No they have no right.

And also they have no right to try to proselytize minors (also something they tried to do with me).

If you don't want them(or anyone else) knocking on your door you can put up a no trespassing sign. Other than that, people have the right to come on your property to talk to you or even sell you things(Avon Lady, people selling meat or whatever, etc). Don't want people there? Put up a sign. Then there is no reason to be rude to anyone.

BTW, I wasn't kidding. Whatever remains of our freedom of speech (and everything else in the 1st amendment) is because of JW's winning court cases. Like it or not that is how it is. They start losing cases and we will start losing freedom. That is on its way anyway.

If you have a no trespassing sign and they aren't seeing it or ignoring it then tell them you have the right to call the police the next time they show up. Call the local kingdom hall as well and tell them. And put a sign up on your door telling people to go away. Most JW's really don't want to talk to people who don't want to talk to them.
