Tomatoes with extra vitamin C via LED lamps
Tomatoes can contain more vitamin C if they are exposed to extra light from LED lamps while growing on the plant. This has been proven by research by Wageningen UR Greenhouse Horticulture in collaboration with Philips. The partnership will be continued in a joint facility for research into the application of LED lamps in horticulture (IDC LED), which will be opened in Bleiswijk (NL) on 16 May.

LED lights specially designed for plant growth...they're usually higher power (50W to 135W) to those you find at your local hardware store for home lighting, and the light frequencies they emit in (wavelenghts) are specifically designed to track the main ones of the sun at different hours.

You can search for "Grow LED" in Google if you want more info about those.

I've got a little screw in bulb for plants but right now its looking like well pacman as an LED blew it ended up looking like a great blue pacman.

But I have to say I don't know a great deal on them as the reason I said what using LED lights as I thought they used a lot less even the pannels and such.
