IckDay

The vicious nature of your wrath
Gets heaped upon my head
I carry it upon my back
It sleeps inside my bed

With cautious fear I check the phone
To see what harm you’ve lobbed
Emails weighted down with stone
As dignity is robbed

Walk slowly on the eggshells
Make sure it doesn’t crack
Facades are fragile creatures
They cut so little slack

Choose words that have no meaning
The weather or one’s health
While inside I’m careening
just trying to save myself

A coffee or a valium
A smoke to calm the storms
A bowl of chocolate ice cream
Help deal with daily norms

What looks like just a doormat
Is stronger than you know
It doesn’t mean I’m staying
But rather, leaving slow

You thought I’d take it lightly
Continue on this way
Cuz I won’t let you fight me
But there will come a day

"Snowflake"

Each moment with you
Is a snowflake from the heavens,
Sparkling crystaline symmetry,
Soft and gentle in its coming.
Alive for an instant......
Then fading from the present to the past
With the warmth of your touch.
Each one unique in its splendor
Melting away to my dismay,
But frozen ever perfect for eternity
In my hearts memory.

Each kiss from your lips
Lights another candle in my heart
All of which flicker in time
As though dancing to the melody,
The essence of Love that lives between us.
The Winter has no cold
That can chill my heart
When warmed by a smile from your face
And the night has no darkness
That can bring me fear
Because the Sun shines when you hold my hand.

Each word you speak
Is a snow white dove
Gliding down on silken wings
From a sky of blue above,
A comfort and strength for my soul.
It's all sweet music to my ears
And I love being close
To a gentle whisper
That speaks of your desire for me.

"Until The Very End"

This is for each of you here that have looked within
And seen the image of who you really are.
Wisdom from self awareness is where you begin
To see the Truth of our existance from afar.

Though self reliance conjures thoughts of strength,
Independence is the struggle of a lonely heart.
Every day of separation shortens lifes length
And whispers a plea for your search to start.

You cannot see everything through a window of glass,
Niether to the eyes of your heart are all things revealed.
Not all the visions we wish for are allowed to pass.
Some things must be seen through faith if concealed.

The meaning of some words are written between the lines
And it is up to our wisdom to understand and discern.
Deep inside you know your are allowed to view the signs
But the truth lies hidden beneath the weight of concern.

For those so entangled in the intensity of youth
Know that many paths will be laid out for your choosing
Do not look so hard that you are blinded to the truth
Even though traveled souls know it can be very confusing.

I certainly am not so wise that I cannot yet learn
Though I may struggle and reach the moutains peak
Clouds below may still obsure the answers for which I yearn,
But patience will prevail to show me the answers I seek.

Do not forget that times of darkness are sure to fall,
They are as natural as the rain that cleans the air.
Even though your fears may drown the voice you hear call
The dawn will still come and lift you from despair.

Remember all the things you've learned in this life,
Keep them close, as they are the jewels of your discovery.
Share their beauty with those plagued with strife
And they too may benefit and find the path to recovery.

Everyday search your mind for thoughts that help your soul ascend
Do not cling so tightly to the physical world around you
Lest it bind you in shackles that you cannot transcend
So when you pass from this Earth you'll already know what's true.

Words as these have been written a million times
Yet still sing like chimes in the wind.
To search for meaning in every word that rhymes,
will please my soul until the very end.

We are everlasting and unlimited, unbound from the frailty of this dominion. Release yourself from desire, Free yourself of greed. Then will you find your mind prepared to continue the journey you were meant to take.

Contentment is a state devoid of fear, a place of peace, a mirror of reflection to see the truth. Collect the memories of all that you are, then study them well to see the path upon which you travel. Contemplate the direction on which your journey takes you. If you derive calm contentment then you have done well.

" LOVE "

A whisper of faith is the breath of Spring
That can chase away Winters sting.
To stand fast in believing
In the face of all that is decieving,
That is the hope of LOVE.

A smile brought to a saddened face,
Like turning cotton into satin and lace,
To give all you have when there is need,
Even if it means you heart must bleed,
That is the strength of LOVE

A caressing touch and tender kiss
Can begin the journey to passions' bliss.
To lose all sense of time,
As two lovers find that their bodies rhyme,
That is the beauty of LOVE.

Two golden coins wrapped in the silk of togetherness
That become more with time not less.
To become richer when the other is near,
But only when you can part and feel no fear,
That is the Worth of LOVE.

Something to share as the years go by,
The smiles and tears and precious moments that quickly fly.
To stand by each other when nothing seems right,
Walking side by side in search of understanding and light,
That is the reason for LOVE.

Without faith there is no hope of LOVE.
Without a smile there is no strength in LOVE.
Without touching there is no beauty in LOVE.
Without togetherness there is no worth in LOVE.
Without sharing there is no reason to LOVE.

" DOUBTLESS "

I choose to believe in you,
Doubtless, the love I offer is true.
My heart would cast no shadow
To darken your path to me,
But burn as brightly as the sun
So that you can easily see
You will never have a fear
In loving me.

Time becomes a window
Through which I gaze,
And you become my world
Void of the cold and misty haze.
Filled with vivid colors
That come to life as you smile.
A world clearly visible through this window
Across every mile.

The rainbows that climb over the clouds
Are the memories we make each time we touch.
And the beautiful flowers that abound
In the gardens of our hearts
Are the kisses we so passionately share.

When you speak I hear sweet music
That lingers like a sensuous perfume.
When your eyes make love to me
I am lifted on that magic carpet
And transported to paradise,
Awake in reality not asleep in dreams.
One Truth.... many realities

Wow, but dark
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 799151

Its not always dark, though i find i write better when i'm pained.. as often many a muse could tell you. I've tried to move on from that style though, Seriously i have 100's spanning decades... Styles change, the lexicon changes, you know writing is complicated hahah.. I am rather proud of my Jack the ripper poem though..
The next one though is kind of an opus though. Its long and sprawling in 3 parts.. (inspired by T.S. Elliot, depression, sleep deprivation, multiple ex-gf's, Louis Bunuel, Thomas Covenanat Chronicles, Dore, and Arabian nights..)

~The Canto of December 1st
--------------------------------------------------
i.

The wind of December
Lulls and pacifies
Through the window;
Time moves so much slower.

Torn from a hibernation so cold.
In frosted air the clock ticks;
I sit on my hands; Your heart lock clicks;
And with tender lips I'll kiss the blood from
your gorgeous powdered wrists.

Eyes affixed to stars immobile.
The collapse and desolating weight of reality.
Like a tarpit, I, a fossil in total;
Strung along golden thread from yesterday,
As if I, among the living, gained implacement,
Uncomplicated fade, derailed from the grave.
To footing loosed, a rockslide away.
Snowblind in torrid blankets, white.
That root, which bindeth, and yet holds firm.

ii.

Gladly fallen again, Angel, you.
Where I deign, a noted stop, down.
For I reign in gray soot.
December black, alive in terma.
Resistant to the push of climes to come;
Amongst only us.
The Word to make it real.
The world is made to feel.
Pulled out of crystal, with lacewings aloft;
In the cavern of Light, the true King is born.

Frozen, twisting, rising, periphial;
My Kingdom 50 seasons, a million and one.
The Seven Thousand reasons it has begun.

Tied together, wings in sun's splendor;
Glass cages shatter, lips that meet;

In binding, indeed, under linen so fine;
The razor to find it hidden;

Among so many scars, and a life inside cars;
We'll still find the sentence to say it in.

iii.

Every goddamned time.
(saw this in a shooting star 2 days before)
Knew from that look you give me.
(uninterrupted)

(continues)
And the band played on.
And our friends kept eachother busy.
As always, divine moments, seconds, minutes even.
Smiles and laughter*

(she said it first)
and i kept going
and i wanted to keep going but*
and we believe everything we say.
Now you're right next to me.
Now your hand is in mine.
Now vulnerable grace.. Its True:
We're safe.
In arms.
Embracing. I can't focus on anything (pupils dilate, our presence is ebbing)
Buoyed.
Subtle.
Inticing.
It's the right thing.

(lights flicker) "I want for you, this."
*gestures everywhere*
**arms flying, fingers as tightly pointed as the beak of hummingbird**
"AND THE WHOLE WORLD."
And every sentence that says that kind of thing.
That's written. Ever.
All the words that we could ever humbly feel, in our combined selves, as close as two could feel enjoined..>>>

(Time stops; Geranium/Venus/Jupiter/a heartbeat/*, Owls*, Snow*, Ocean waves crash on shore*, her smile in campfire light*,.,))

(Time remains stopped, but keeps going for the sake of adversity)

So she kissed me.>>>>
And so a billion lights.
And mountains made of life, and ancient lakes and seas.>

<(Their winged courtiers soaring with majesty over reflections, the sounds of exotic birds echoeing the vastness of forever)>

<And so a billion kindnesses, and forgivenesses..
A billion tiny reminders, a thousand beautiful torches, alight on every single moment of my being.
I remember everything, and you overflow with scalding, loving magma. Bursting and we sway awash;
~IN BURNING TIDES OF LOVE AND TRUST..~

And that was it, nothing else ever happened ever.

THE FUCKING BEAUTIFUL END. FOREVER <3

find your way home to me
wayward boy
the tune is playing and morning
might safely
make it's way
before
waves come crashing
your door
lonely boy
dancing
to meet
the rolling forces
without force of your own
on the underside
all alone boy
where reflections
do the directing
and the stones go
skipping on

^^^ Nice one! :) :) :) My words want to do your words. Hahaha.

One, just one
It’s now begun
Not a single jingle
‘Til deeds are done -
A span unspun
The colored run
Why are you absent
My wayward son?
My passing atoms
From Eden – Adam’s
Matched aplomb,
The frosted summer suns
(July will bring the dawn)
As we will rise
Skipped stones thrown amidst the sky
As locusts now we dive & die
Pursing, fallowed, cursed and waned
Still set in ships of wooden frame
The Phoenix flame
The sacred Wedding
America in full-swing, dancing
In the newer, greater light
The brightest starlight carousel
Pitched forward on the pallid one
And wishing for a faster resolution

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
Don't know if this is appropriate but I wrote this after a dream I had following a strange encounter with a bear in Shenandoah NP:

I let my ill will shine. I let what I know be mine. If I have to I will write this as a list for you. I am setting a precedent, a flavored night vessel. Wholly on track and listening.

You're face peaked through the underbrush. Body then appeared elephantine, with two deeply sunken eyes, like a skull with thin flesh. Eyes like dimes shone with a brilliant shine and intelligence. Your face broke then a smile, with misshapen mouth, and neck stretching serpentine, slender and long.

Skin gravely grey, armored face appears on second observation then, turning my way. You seem to me top-heavy and odd to these old eyes.

Then things at your sides suddenly rush towards me. Seeming like dogs, except able to turn tighter corners. I sense no ill will and let sheer terror subside. You strode out further to where I've just gone, feeling me out, making sure I am aware.

I am then boarding a train. I am standing there, suppressing a shiver, waiting in line at the pass. These things seem so before-hand now to me. The sign signals my destination and departure time. Uninterested.

Seeing ahead, past the rows of heads in front of me, I notice a hurried expression on the face of the terminal worker. He rushed the next one on and kept on checking the time.

Something feels amiss. Can't place it yet though (we all crash).

The American Paradigm

America you’re addicted to a lie
So hopelessly afflicted that soon you’ll die
Still you keep going back to it time after time
You’re drunk on the American paradigm

So blind and in desperate need of an intervention
Your intoxicated mind can only think in one dimension
Brainwashed and controlled it’s more than a crime
You’re drunk on the American paradigm

In a cesspool of Propaganda you’re marinating
Floating with all the left-right fools bloviating
Fixed in your ideology dumbded-down by design
You’re drunk on the American paradigm

You serve the establishment and their banking cartel
The Federal Reserve and their money from Hell
So devoid of critical thinking in your one-track mind
You’re drunk on the American paradigm

The ruling elite are your enablers their new world order is at stake
And the last thing that they need is to have you conscious and awake
So they keep you distracted naive and in line
Keep you drunk on the American paradigm

One day you will hit bottom just as planned
Your worthless dollar no longer in demand
Conquered from within it’s treason defined
You’re drunk on the American paradigm

A Song For The Dark At The End Of The World

The apocalypse is tomorrow,
December 21st 2012,
or so the Mayans say
and the forecast is for
freezing rain and ice
with the possibility
of thunderstorms,
and lightning
scratching
clawing
ripping
across the winter sky,
like Mother Nature
digging in with her talons
and beating her ragged wings,
muscles stretched
and torn,
hollow bones bent to breaking,
fighting for survival
against the relentless suck
of howling oblivion.

This is the fucking apocalypse we're talking about
if you believe in that sort of thing
which means that
after tomorrow
there are
no more tomorrows:
it's the last lap
of the ancient race
we have all been running
or swimming
or slithering
or crawling
or flying
ever since
He
let there
be light.

My parents said you rang their door
looking to find me again no more
You were torn and tattered and high again
my mother said you burned your last friend

They took you in and gave you a meal
they didn't care if you had to steal
You took their couch and cried all night
my father said you had lost your fight

When morning came you had gone
you had written the words from a sad sweet song
You left the words flat on a table
my parents searched for you in pimp willie's stable

They didn't tell me you had come
I would have flown, I would have run
To hold you again to the end of time
My one, my true, my love of mine

They called me just the other day
there really wasn't much to say
Your body was found in Astoria Park
twisted and broken in shadows dark

I wake each morning and live my life
I think you'd like my lovely wife
I carry you in my secret place
And still I seek your lovely face

"Forward"

Just pop another Prozac
Chase it with some straight Jack
And tell yourself that everything's fine
It's an Obamanation embrace the "transformation"
Move "forward" there's no looking behind

Forward America to Agenda 21
Forward to austerity and to giving up your guns
Forward America to the dollar's demise
Forward as your economy collapses right before your eyes

Forward America to your lost sovereignty
Forward to the death knell of your liberty
Forward America divided you will not stand
Forward as you fall into the New World Order master plan

Forward America to anarchy and revolution
Forward to false flag terror and a tyrannical solution
Forward America your government will save you
Forward the chains of despotism are waiting to enslave you

Forward America where chaos will reign
Forward your liberty lost will never be regained
Forward America in government do you trust
Forward God has given you over and His judgement will be just

So pop another Prozac
Chase it with some straight Jack

What shall we say of these terrible things
We circle a wasteland devoid of brass rings
A buggy Zim man with bruised potato head
Shot all dem red skittles grape boy he be dead

I went to the store the other night
I saw a rent a cop get in a terrible fight
He had spilled his milk all over the place
The Arab store owner was right in his face

"You pays the moneys you dropped my good milk
The uniform you wear isn't made out of silk
You may think you're so whiter than me
But I came from war to land of the free."

The rent a cop was seething a temple vein throb
"Fuck you, you Hadji" and he spit a big gob
"I'll jump this shit counter and smash in your nose
I'm so sick of seeing you camel fuck moes"

The store owner pulled a blue gun from his drawer
The rent a cop fell gasping minimum wage no more
I slipped away and walked down the street
I felt weighed and heavy slouched on my feet

What shall we say of these terrible things
We circle a wasteland devoid of brass rings
A buggy Zim man with bruised potato head
Shot all dem red skittles grape boy he be dead

Happen in this measured & sudden way
Resting along her lips gently
She will tell me how it feels
As she snakes across her skin
Choreographed fingertips
This careful symphony lingering
Each note she plays compelling
And asking the hands of time
To nudge along a bit more slowly

The status of this transmission put its finger into the dough of Heaven
Hoodlums pleasuring themselves on our unwilling truths
While Egypt stood in uproar & millions took to the streets
We watched all fatted up on our TV sets
Self worth calculated by our net worth
Thousands dying at the ends of America’s profane hand
For the good of God we toss bombs overhead
Unthinking – unfeeling – we’ve become the drones
Lathered up in our clean reverie, our sackcloth & ash
Mountains of the enlightened gather under the banner of free-will
No longer captives. Free men & women
Profound change wills its masters from the shadow
Sneering underneath the festered, oozing pastures
Men read their revelation as an invitation
And wanting their god at his most murderous end
Planting the seeds of the Pharisee again, fully-automatic
Gesturing, the phosphorescent furnace heating
Prophecies and prophets discredited
When those who Know look on, amazed in being
The weak & weary, troubled, passioned -- fascinated
O How beautiful will the Light be at the last
Cupped below the hand of our Creator

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
just north a pace or just south
there becomes a place in between
the roads leading beyond the yonder trees
where hidden rows of morning's spontaneity
comes bursting with life for all to see
there on the merry homestead of thee
did i meet you fairly
did you greet me squarely
have we but barely touched our feet
upon the given lands
in busy dreams with many hands
together coming and summing up
the total coupling of these mountains
climbing still higher above
our rooftop now dripping
with ten thousand tiny rain drops
now swirling with beginning winds
blowing where they've not blown before
around the corners of the river beds
massaging the shore of steady
and sacred and ready
holding eternity's eddy
and my heart

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
For today:

There are better ways to write a revolution
Than to choose the words out carefully
Picking up each one and shaking it a little
In the hope that it might do some dazzling thing
I’ve picked this day to bare down on all my memories
That I could free myself from them in a single blow
Letters making riotous shapes on this clean page
Raising waves of internal protestations
There is no longer the luxury of propping up the walls
And brushing off our vestments of their stray hairs
We have spent our last 30 years in the laboratory
Making violent concoctions full of hazardous ends
But we still cling to all the good we came with
Every single bit of the vastness of truth within us
Our eyes still alight and looking
Holding fast to the hope that all the world will Waken
