Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
that's when you quit
and ? when you kept on going ?
your own way
in love
toward love
for love
never minding what they say
mostly fools anyway
but you
you are clearly no fool
following your own heart
following your own rules
learning about love and hate
naturally
sincerely
without wait or fear of failure here
coffeecup

and good morning!

Hi. :) :)

_Part 1

It has been placed in us to be great.
We put it there ourselves.
Upon arriving to the Destination
Our journey begins,
And our senses come alive
Smelling Creation, Seeing Creation, Touching Creation,
Feeling it all in outward motion
The waves behind the boats
Leaving endless bitter ebbs
Cresting up & back into itself
Crashing into a new beginning
The old being consumed by the new
As the snake would eat its own tail.

_Part 2

The curvature of the galaxy
Tilting towards this Neanderthal, forcing the DNA
To fire
The smoldering consummation of atomic sex
Creating new atoms
That rebuild the entire face of history.

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
it's in the most hidden spaces
the emptiness where everything is
possible
and nothing isn't new
it's in the underlying traces
the fullness of grace and of
you
in the mirror on my wall
it's in the catchment of breath
the uplifting heavy need
omnipresent
ever wanting it's own seed
to flower
it's in the lover's eye
the corner and the blink
the search light beacon always
never stopping
always there
and where are we now my stranger
where were we then my friend
will fire danger the shore
where water calls for more
heat
more direct need
to steam
to meet
us the looking ones
with our eyes closed
and our toes
just beginning to get wet.

hi EK. hope everything about you and your poetry is wonderful these days. thinking of you. hugs

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
Tonight the incantation began
Thunderstorms gathering around the firepit
Steely-orange flame
Blanketing the air, chariots of gasps
Arise, fuming
Like mummified corpses tethered to the chant
Twisting fully out into darkness.

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
(Three powerful words
The jet-fuel of language
Burns hotter each day)

Passionate absence of the mind-built daydreams
Wanton love peers out from the Heavens
The word lithely wraps itself around us
Lights inside us building in brightness
The smell of her carried from the East
Salty remnants of matter on my tongue

(Four missing moments
Memorized poetics
I can feel the iron climb)

Yesterday, we came out divided
Sandbars separate – disconnected waves
I dip into the air, waiting for her to jump
And snatch her in my claws.

(Five months of the war
Battle-hardened
The rescue mission begins)

"thunderstorms gathering around the firepit"

the image is so striking that i can feel it
even smell it
i hear it
and watch it disappear "out into the darkness"

it's like when a piece of art , so fully performed, leaves an audience with their own silent moments before the applause begins. applause!!!!!

raining and red

oh my sabat morning
raining and red
raining and red on top of my head
in my pot to boil
simmer down
the edges
so the fledglings
might take flight
and alight on the light
of higher ground

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
tempering the red
with a course of turquoise
and a green frog with magenta heart spots
and a pink underbelly
go ahead oh tempestuous winds
send all of my spices sailing
round about the railroad track
late at night deep in black
seed me so tightly
in the brown fertile ground
where footprints left me
to follow
allow me to see
where his ocean meets my shore
and so much more than that
...so stand back...
for the tempering of the red
and the rest that already follows...

The Nuances of 3 A.M.

Fed from her breasts
She tucked his chin downward
Exposing him to her,
In this beautiful rutting
Of exchange.
The room grew warmer
In a vacuum of peace
And swarm of wild air
I heard his lips pull gently from her
Doe-eyed
Gazing up at Mother
In this timeless memory
That is drawn from her.
Could I ever hope to have this for myself?
The pallor in her cheeks grow red
Life refills the arid fasting
Of this woman –
Never having seen her
Look so lovely as today.

At the end of the beginning
Or beginning of the end
Is your properly forgetting
You have infinity to spend
In a quest of awed discov’ry
Leaving ripples fast behind
For a spiritual recov’ry
That will cause the Great Unwind.

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
I've tried writing a little poetry.... Most of it I've set to music...I guess that would be a song. I'm not sure I like the music I've tried to write to surround my poetry.

anyway.... I tried...this feels a little risky .....to stick my neck out here with a group that can be harsh......

here's are examples I recently uploaded to youtube:

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
sew me a poetry thread and let it quilt the bed of our divine

she said to him this time we blanket the thickets
this time my heart quickens against the field of one
so hold me poetry maker for i've no forsaken land
only this flowing garden into your sacred hand

sew me a poetry thread and let it embroider our holy sign

he said to his love as he wrapped her in his warmth
there is no distorting this my honest intent
so hold me blushing one until the fears are done and gone
i meant all along that i am yours beyond the silken song

sew me a poetry thread and let it our lives so entwine

they said to somehow define all that ever already was
and for reasons that we must trust, reasons all their own
she and he find they are meant to be
fine design comforting
through eternity

sew worry not of others
they are of no threat to you
better yet they support
all the love that you report
and wish you the happiest
wish you the best
wish you all that you wish
and the rest
that is yours, thread weavers.

We Don't Grow Up

There was a space underneath the bridge as a boy
Connecting our towns, above some forgotten river
We were caught smoking cigarettes before daylight
And asking change of the younger kids
We broke out of our frustrated youth
Clamoring at the insulations of our deliverance
But somehow, in the midst of
Everything
The thickness of our beards hefted up
Dark lines of passage carved across our chests
And we breathed fireflies at the nite
As if we had swam among invisible sharks
Barely having lived to tell the tale.

The charred hand, the burning fist
Comparisons are none of this
A fitted dash, a painful ash
Arid songs on life’s police
Innuendo – thoughts on Plato
Arugula with ripe tomato
Triaminic dissolution
Wal-Mart’s sale on this conclusion
Pointed pens and puckered pies
Each disguise a vetted vein
Romantic rain and symphony
The uttered love in tragedy
Post-war traumas, new-war dreams
Hung from collars ‘bove the stream
Mankind’s progress
Mankind’s regress
Where will we end?
With our friends.

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
Wiser tries were made that day
Uncomplicated ebb-and-flow (the less you know)
To-and-fro
The seas they chose, the gilded rose
And frosted throes
Still it goes a-pitter pat
How dare I stare at that and say (with every word just tossed away)
“Relax…”
A sexy swarm of rapid-fire
Cupid’s arrows, my desire
Do you tire? (Tantric spells & wishing wells)
The second greeting
Nothing fleeting, hence our meeting
Thirsty
Cursed and bursting
Ah, the air is full of you
Like a diamond fortress draped in ebony.

Feeling fashioned by the loom
Knotty thread of desolate
Breathing out & in – consume
Bedazzled by your aggregate
Kniving tribal planted pines
Reductions of my politic
Open borders closed, defined
Spirits do arithmetic
Squawking gulls dive in & swim
Our lust of calling Freedom falls
The German steel, a bullet’s whim
George Washington would have the balls
Potato fields turn up the sun
All eyes & ears & NSA
Wasted endings have begun
Pretending to have gone away
Needl’ng in the guttered gaze
Mankind subtle in its ways
Tripping hard against the phrase
Eternity begins today.

Re: Because I'm a Poet - A Poetry Thread
Window Pain

Traveling at the speed of light through
Glass corridors of information
Then thrusting forth invisible waves towards infinity's Culmination
Signals the windows have reached their intended Destination

The Billions who've been fed for years by the enlightened few
Have succumbed to the ethereal coercion
Which led to the gates of slaughter in pursuit of the latest version
All the others are kept in line by codependent confusion
While the unbelievers risk being left out of the synthetic Revolution.

Control of the media, banks, payments, entertainment,
Wireless data, and the super highway
Is the next justification for monetary domination
A computer in every house and on every desk
Is just one king's new form of taxation
We've thrown off our chains of oppression
And exchange them for the puppet master's strings of persuasion
One mans dream for humanity
Or a megalomaniac's salvation?
