just inside her bedroom door
tall wall sheet rock castle frock and mine
god given directive, be thee sure to shine
sighing slopes for unclear hopes
design a dream or two
mama's coming with the campbell soup
cream of tomato will do
for the paper doll girl
and her scissors
cutting out all her own visitors
as she chooses
but what amuses our displaced one
earth born, from whence did she come
and why in a world of wolves
does she sit
alone with cold soup, feeding it
to friends made of paper
easy to be clipped
pressed as protectors
