I'm not the OP, but everyone has the ability to sense when something's off. Some are more tuned in than others but you already know that. ;)

As to asking if you could be friends with someone and not know, I'd say yes. The cult I was 'fortunate' enough to run into - I worked with those people for 3 years and didn't even have a clue. EVEN when some clues were dropped. One by my higher self, and just odd things they'd say. It was after the SHTF (when I became a target, and their tactics were quite obvious) that my radar was fully turned on. My radar never turns off now.

Things to keep tuned to:

Someone you don't know all that well is trying to befriend you. They ask you a lot of questions that seem innocent enough in conversation, but they're gathering information to use against you. It's a hard fence to straddle, because it's human nature to want to know about someone you like (if they're a genuine good person) - I keep a lot of things close to the vest now though, because of what I experienced. Once they know your fears, loves, frustrations, etc...they find trigger words or create situations to bring about stress and discord in your life.
