It will be interesting to see how this is received by the public at-large.

As an aside, typically, the elite supposedly love to reflect on their own demise as a reassurance to work diligently and that time is short.

But alas, I can't see how they are wrong there... although I am highly suspicious of their REAL intent.

As I've argued on this site before, Kurzweil's "Singularity" is the Illuminati's wet dream. They do everything in their power to strip humanity of its spiritual and moral center and render us nothing more than automatons, programmed to obey our basest instincts without ever engaging our higher faculties. The transhumanist agenda is proceeding apace, unfortunately. My sincerest hope is that we all wake up before it's too late.

There is nothing in that sculpture that says it is Transhumanist. The medal might make you think so but the human shape and the skeleton is man with skin falling off,
that is not a nice sculpture. That is their wish that people die.

LOL.
I don't think people really get how crazy these people are... their idea of utopia is to live forever in biomechanical suits as 'gods.'

Re: Transhumanist Sculpture At Bilderberg 2013. Can you guys interpret the meaning.
OK, so back to the meaning of the sculpture....

Interesting that it is in the reflecting pool, appearing to crawl and rise up out of the water. A symbol of rebirth from something organic (water) into hybrid of organic (bone) and synthetic (silicone skin) and metal (strength). Since it was originally NOT in water (see below), perhaps it was originally intended as crawling to hang on to life as it dies? Ah ha!
I disagree with the talking heads on the vid - they should've shut up and filmed more. I think art isn't always about inspiration and uplifting. It can be a symbol or a representation of a goal or idea, which this sculpture seems to be. And the more I think of it, perhaps this piece is actually a SLAP in the face of the transhumanist movement, if you look at the artists other works.
In terms of critique, in my opinion, the sculpture is sad. No color - drab and dull. Steel or metal medium and contrete. In one angle it appears man and in another appears female. Quite apropos to Transhumanism ;)
It is cold, dark, and lonely. TPTB's last (?), vain (?)attempt to hold onto this planet. Not letting go, no matter what the cost.
It took me awhile to find the artist and title: Matthew Lane Sanderson: Lou II. Apparently it's been in and out of the water: [link to www.artcontact.co.uk] It was originally for sale but was permenantly installed at The Grove in 2011. Althought I personally dislike this piece, his other works are interesting and actually cool, not so creepy. [link to www.sanderson-sculpture.com]
To cut thru the BS, here is a 2011 promo video of other sculptures there, including this piece. But I am curious, if this piece has been around since earlier exhibitions, then why are these guys now taking a vid of it?
