As projected right now by 2017 US federal budget deficit, that is how much is taken in vs. how much is spent will be around half of what it is today. Today we are spending more than a trillion dollars more every single year then we take in in revenue! By 2017 we will “only” be spending half a trillion more then we take in. this is the play on words, were reducing our budget deficit faster than ever before.

But we are still spending way way more then we take in, as we stand we owe 16 trillion in debt, much of this debt to ourselves in the form of non intrest breaing bonds. Were floating out own debt by borrowing from our left pocket to pay back our right pocket.

By 2017 national debt by CBO estimates will have risen another 6 trillion more to $22 trillion total.


Example to put the numbers in perspective in 2000 the us was running a budget surplus of 160 billion, meaning were spending 160 billion less then we took in every year. And the US national debt was around 6 trillion and dropping, not raising.

The other thing, this is a little more complicated, I’ll try to explain it in very simple terms, not easy to do. The M2 money supply, that is the money in the bank that you and I have deposited along with all the money readily available for loans like small business lines of credit was about 5 trillion dollars in 2000, today because of QE there is 10 trillion in circulation. By 2017 it will be just under 15 trillion, so in 17 years the amount of money in circulation went up by 2/3 and because of lack of demand all this extra currency sitting around not being used is devaluing the dollars buying power. This is why you can get a loan for near nothing right now, they are begging you to borrow the money from them. Sooner or later there is a tipping point where we all have money but we don’t all have commodities, so the value of a commodity raises exponentially and this is how inflation becomes rampant. I don’t want your dollar for my ear of corn, I don’t need a dollar, I can borrow all the dollars I want from the banks for less in interest a year then inflation is rising! All of a sudden to get me to part with my ear of corn I want three dollars or 4 or 5.
