Peter replied "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."[Matt.16:16] First of all, the word "Christ" comes from "christos", a Greek word meaning "anointed". So, to be the Christ, or Messiah, is to be "the anointed one of God". But what does that mean? It means that Jesus Christ is the ONLY ONE WHO HAS DIVINE LIFE IN HIMSELF. This is why He was able to rise from the dead in a glorified body, on Sunday the 5th of April 33 AD. This is also why He can impart eternal life into all those who believe in His Divinity.
