What an outstanding thread...It is really heart-touching(but not surprising) to see the people on this board help a complete stranger through a tough situation...the real key to happiness and the true essence of one's mission on this planet is to humbly assist and show grace and kindness to all of God's children and the majority of the posters responding to OP exhibited this...well done!

Thank you for taking the time to read the thread in its entireity. Truly some amazing people on glp

What is your email address if people want to make contributions?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 41968182

I don't have paypal. I'm not looking for financial contributions. If you wish to communicate with me off forum, though it's homelessguy972@gmail.com
 Quoting: homelessguy92

I think we can email you paypal contributions. You should set up an acocunt with them, it is free and easy and more people will be able to help you. God bless you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 41968182

Another reason I don't want to accept financial help, is that the moment I do all the people who earlier accused me of being a scammer or a fraud ( but were shutdown but my refusal to accept help) would suddenly emerge from the woodwork and scream "GOTCHA!"

Others have suggested google wallet or an amazon wish list? But what do I really need. A can of coffee would be nice, but that's a luxury and not a real need.

Re: Homeless in Dallas Texas
So as of today I am officially homeless.

I won't bore you all with long sob stories.

About a year ago lost my job of twelve years, couldn't find new work, made some bad financial choices, and today I sit in the public library on my old laptop typing away as all my posessions lay in three small suitcases very close to where I am sitting.

I think this might possibly be the worst place to be homless, given the horrible heat.

So I have seventy-five cents to my name, am not sure where I'll be putting my head down to sleep tonight, and was wondering if anyone else out there has been in a similar prediciment.

I'll update my story here as I can. Maybe a few people will find it interesting.

You can blame a few things, like:

#1 Woodrow Wilson and his adminstration.

#2 FDR (1933) Communist Infiltrator, who sold this country (USA) out.

#3 Some Jews, (not all, but some types). With Jewish Bleeding heart Liberal Democratic Mentality.

Nuff said..

Wutabi, Wish I would have known your Gramps. Sounds like a stand-up man.

To the poster screaming, "Scam! Scam!" you're going to be a shoe-in for trustee of the month once the FEMA camps are up and running. DHS facists love a good snitch - "If you see something, say something" - and you've got the stuff, boyo.

Seems to me there isn't a person on this thread that's an idiot. If OP is scamming, he's scamming. That shit doesn't fall on the people extending themselves from a posture of basic human kindness and empathy. Even if OP is a scamming bastard, and I don't believe he is, thank goodness the world hasn't smothered the compassion displayed by most on this thread.

I believe we are all responsible for taking actions (to the very best of our abilities) to uplift our fellow man. Once done, we take the results as they come. Win, lose, or draw. If I choose to extend myself to another and that person takes advantage of that, tough shit. I know from whence I sprung. My choice. Results? Out of my hands after the action.

At least you people out there are helping someone, i've been homeless for over 6 years and not a single damn soul has helped me in any capacity ...

I can't even get a passer by on the street to give me a penny, and now my last possession besides this laptop ((my blanket)) and the one pair of clothes I have on my back has been stolen.

At least you people helped someone, maybe one day someone will care about me; as much as I cared about you all - but I doubt it.

Thanks for absolutely nothing ...

I have been wanting to read this thread for weeks, but didn't have time till today. WOW! What a great thread this is, and so many of us can relate to your situation being only a paycheck or two away from homelessness ourselves. Thank you for sharing your story. It is an important one, and even as we have seen here on GLP, there are many blessings coming your way. One thing I would like to add that may be helpful...if you need a bank account, try ally.com It is completely online and free to open an account. You can do it with just your SS#. Then when your check comes, you'll have a place to put it. Keep writing OP, you are a blessing to a lot of people!hf

Re: Homeless in Dallas Texas
OP,

I've read most everything here and wanted to add a little something.

If you are successful at getting back on your feet, consider this...... We each have our own dragons to slay.

Some are less ferrocious than others, but threaten us none the less. For many, every morning brings a challenge. A lot of people that either have the energy or perseverence to easily overcome all obsticals in their way can't imagine why others are any different.

It is important to look inside yourself and see who you really are. I've found in myself what seems to be somewhat like two people each with a little different take on the way things should be.

I must work all the time to merge them into a unified energy. If the lower one takes over I am bound to procrastinate and in actuality accomplish very little unless it is selfishly what I just want to do, not what I need to do.

Moderation is the key for me, allow the events of life to pass through you with out getting stuck and rethought over and over again.

In reality nothing much in life is ever really easy. Don't expect to little or too much out of yourself, nor allow yourself to be driven by the expectations of others.

There are a million ways to live ones life and all things are open to you, however not all things are profitable, either financially, emotionally or spiritually.

Perhaps what I'm saying doesn't mean anything to you, but I certainly hope your story has a happy ending, but make no mistake about....... It is more up to you than you may think.

Take Care
