Re: Homeless in Dallas Texas
So as of today I am officially homeless.

I won't bore you all with long sob stories.

About a year ago lost my job of twelve years, couldn't find new work, made some bad financial choices, and today I sit in the public library on my old laptop typing away as all my posessions lay in three small suitcases very close to where I am sitting.

I think this might possibly be the worst place to be homless, given the horrible heat.

So I have seventy-five cents to my name, am not sure where I'll be putting my head down to sleep tonight, and was wondering if anyone else out there has been in a similar prediciment.

I'll update my story here as I can. Maybe a few people will find it interesting.

disgusts me these leaders, many thousands face poverty and low standards of living, they still turn a blind eye.

Re: Homeless in Dallas Texas
At least you people out there are helping someone, i've been homeless for over 6 years and not a single damn soul has helped me in any capacity ...

I can't even get a passer by on the street to give me a penny, and now my last possession besides this laptop ((my blanket)) and the one pair of clothes I have on my back has been stolen.

At least you people helped someone, maybe one day someone will care about me; as much as I cared about you all - but I doubt it.

Thanks for absolutely nothing ...

Thank you again for your generosity. By this time next month, though, I should be in a position to pay for my own upgraded account on GLP, which I plan to do so I can show my support for this website and amazing community. So after this month. So I hope you can find another worthy soul deserving of an account upgrade. It would be wrong for me to accept the continuation of this gift I can can manage to pay for it myself. But thank you so very much it.

Sometimes you just can't catch a break!

Just when I'm all happy the my gout episode has finally subsided after three weeks I get another whammie!

On tuesday night at 7pm I'm sitting in the cabin reading and all of a sudden my ears start ringing very loudly. Kept me up till 2 am till i was so tired I finally did fall asleep with it, hoping it would subside by morning.

But nope. Persisted all wednesday.

So today my friend drives me back to the ER where they don't do very much but look in my ear canal and say no ruptured ear drum, little ear wax. Diagnosis --Tinitis, go see an ENT.

Although I plan to see an ENT next month when i have the funds, I'm a bit depressed after doing about 10 hours of online research.

Seems people who get this often have it for life and either learn to life with it, go crazy, or kill emselves.

I didn't have any kind of trauma to my ear.

I did read that there is a corolation between taking ibuprofren and ear problems. Apparently even though it's not on the label, ibuprofen is a ototoxic drug. I had been taken heavy doses of advil to combat the gout, and I took two for a headache on tuesday when this started.

I just hope it's not permanant. Reading about people tell how they've lived with it 24/7 for 30,40,50 years and either learn to just ingore the sounds or mask them somehow.

Anyway, that's where i am today :)

Other than that I'm in great spirits.

Tinnitus. Lots of people get it. Often it's just a mysterious thing that most people just deal with. You had one experience, went to the er where they told you nbd and you spend the next 10 hours reading thousands of post on the "nightmares" of tinnitus. I'm starting to notice a pattern. I do wish you luck tho hf

I agree with "they will clean you out" meaning your wallet. Not worth the trouble as there is nothing they can do. Either it clears up on it's own or you just learn to live with. I'm guessing here, but, perhaps stress is at fault.

Thinking too much about the wrong stuff. I believe that was my problem. Changed location, job, friends, etc... all gone.

Stress is always a possibility. And since I could never afford things an ENT might suggest (MRI for example to rule out brain tumor) you might be right. I do, however, have to find a GP next month so I can get back on some maintenance meds, so if it is continuing then I'll just mention it to the GP.

I've lived with it all my life man. It's can get really bad at times. I've noticed especially dry or humid conditions set it off along with high stress.

Meditation does wonders to make it go away for a short period. If it does persist and starts to drive you crazy you can see a specialist and get a special hearing aid fitted which counteracts the frequency and nullifies it. As you can imagine though they are $$$$$$$$.

Just like your life demons ignore it and it shouldn't bother you most of the time. The only issues arises when you have to ask someone to repeat themselves 5 times as you can't hear them.

Btw... reads the entire story, very heart warming, glad you finally found your feet. May your good fortune continue.

Thanks. Right now I have no problem hearing people over the ringing. It's just there, ever persistent in the background. I hate the fact that so people people suffer from this, but in a way it's good to know you're not alone, or crazy. Thanks for taking the time to read the thread. God bless and have a great day.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you had a bad effect from ibuprofen or any other over the counter or prescription drug.

For me, I used to take a lot of ibuprofen for my back, and I think it burned holes in my gut and contributed to a severe wheat intolerance developing.

If you can deal with any health problems including this tinnitus without going to doctors and their poisonous drugs, that would be great in the long run.

If the drug caused the tinnitus, what then, they put you on another drug? Maybe that helps the tinnitus but does something to your liver? Then they put you on a drug for your liver and that does something to your kidneys? A drug for that and pretty soon you are in the hospital, and more drugs til you are D-E-A-D and I am not even kidding, this happens to people every day.

Keep your money and spend it on good food and vitamins, minerals, supplements, herbs, books instead.

Yeah, I'm trying to stay homeopathic as much as possible right now. Honestly, though, when I was going through the gout the ibuprofen was the only thing that helped the immediate swelling. I cannot say with any kind of certainty that it is the cause of the tinnitus. I have taken ibuprofen in the past, but never 800mg 3x a day for more than one day in a row. I found a forum with tons of complaints from people who swear the profen is responsible for their tinnitus. IF this is true, I'm amazed that no class action law suit has ever been brought considering how many people take ibuprofen and might be suffering tinnitus because of it.

I agree most drugs are problematic, too. I worked for countries largest (at the time) PBM for 15 years. I do believe there are some good drugs, but without a doubt the majority of drugs seem to cause more harm than good with the potential side effects one must endure from them.

Well you can say most drugs are "problematic" but it might be more accurate to say drugs are "lethal".

Anyway best of luck to you! rose

the fact you are typing on a pawnable laptop wondering what you are gonna do for food proves that either you're an idiot or a troll.

SO he should pawn the most valuable tool he has in the world that could help solve his problem? God thinking there fuckstick. I can tell you through experience that Texas is not the place to be when down and out, it's te kind of place that respects money and has no mercy for anyone in need. You had better get te hell out of Dallas before you are beaten to death by the police or end up in a private prison
