I don't need to now. I really dont have a home but i havae a bus ticket toward a much better place, near friends, nice open land. I am not sure what awaits me down the road, but I know I don't want to be in Texas anymore.

Re: Homeless in Dallas Texas
So as of today I am officially homeless.

I won't bore you all with long sob stories.

About a year ago lost my job of twelve years, couldn't find new work, made some bad financial choices, and today I sit in the public library on my old laptop typing away as all my posessions lay in three small suitcases very close to where I am sitting.

I think this might possibly be the worst place to be homless, given the horrible heat.

So I have seventy-five cents to my name, am not sure where I'll be putting my head down to sleep tonight, and was wondering if anyone else out there has been in a similar prediciment.

I'll update my story here as I can. Maybe a few people will find it interesting.

Hello friend, if you would like I can bring you food and water for several days! I live close to dallas and would not mind driving out to help an unfortunate soul.

If you want to get in contact, email me at michaelb165@hotmail.com

michael - I am praying for God to bless you 100 fold.
OP - keep the faith. I was a homeless, injured mom with a baby. the creator of the universe didn't do that to me! I made a poor choice in who I married.
God delivered me from the dv shelter, within a year I had a car and work and a home.
I read the Word and spoke it OUT LOUD. 'NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER' I got fierce!

I made a LOT (hundreds) of phone calls.
it was humiliating - just 2 years before I was on TV shows and working with people whose names you'd recognize. suddenly I'm in a dv shelter with a baby and broken bones!
but I humbled myself before the Lord and kept calling.
finally a Christian radio station called me back and said they had a car someone had donated that I could apply for!

wow, I loved that little car!!!

God is so good.

thanks again, Michael for being His hands and heart on this earth.

thanks, OP, for having the courage to post this thread.

I believe that God is about to bless you exceedingly, abundantly and beyond anything I can imagine.

haven't had time to read the thread just feel the Spirit is telling me you're going to be given a 'witty invention' and by it many will be blessed. don't believe me: line it up with the Word.

OP
just read you got a ticket

this is what I love about glp

I have this theory that the common man is decent and some the the 'terror false flags' are to separate us from each other.
I believe - thru Christ- that's where the 'juice' and 'joy' is here on earth. the Word says: you'll know my people by the way they love one another: I remember that's how this country used to be.

in spite of the trolls, I see it all the time here on glp.

Re: Homeless in Dallas Texas
Remember, all things happen for a reason.

I was homeless, due to roommates who didn't pay their part, thank God my mom let me live with her. I struggled with why, especially due to being in my late 40's at the time.

I got a feeling that my mother was going to die. I didn't tell anyone and kept it to myself. Over the next year I helped her out at home, cleaned and shopped for her, worked full time and watched her health decline bit by bit. She only wanted me to live with her for a year, and then I moved out. I still helped Mom. Saw her three times a week. 6 months after I moved out she was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. She passed away 6 weeks later.

I am so glad to have had that time with her.

As I said. All things happen for a reason. You realize who and what is really important.

Good luck to you.

Be Love!

I wish you could get some fresh fruit for the bus trip, that would be so much better than eating chips or whatever from a convenience store.

Can you get some oranges, bananas, apples, a pocketknife, to take with you? and some water?

So what's the advantage of being homeless in another city/state? The good thing about being homeless is you can do that anywhere...

Thanks, right now I'm trying to figure out where to get some chow. Sadly it seems the city has cracked down on people feeding the homeless.

same reason they put up signs saying not to feed the wildlife at parks...the animals grow dependent on handouts and won't fend for themselves...

when I did the hitch from LA to PA, I would look for bush's/shrubs/ferns planted by man. Usually u can sleep in or behind them and out of sight.

I once slept well concealed on a college campus among a bunch of fern plants. The college kids were really surprised when I quickly stood up, shouldered my Kelty D4 and walked out of there.

Well around the dallas public library, there are a lot of other homeless bums to keep you company.

A few words of advice;

Dont become one of those busy street corner bums holding a sign. A lot of those bums are being controlled by organized crime and gangs in dallas. They are kind of like bum pimps. They put the bums up in a cheap hotel, give them drugs, booze and cheap food, and the bums give all their money to the gang. They can make 400-500 bucks a day for the gangs They also protect those corners. Try to move in on another protected bums corner, and you will most likely end up as a floater in the Trinity River.

If I were you, I would make my way over to Garland or Mesquite, go to a Home Depot or Lowes, and hang out with the illegal mexicans for work. A guy looking for day labor will always pick an american over a mexican to pay them to do shit work. Funny thing is, there are hardly ever americans there. Go figure. Quick way to make money.

Two bus breakdowns and other delays have made this one long trip. I was originally supposed to get to NY at 200 pm Today, now it look s like I won't get to NY before Friday.
