Homeless in Dallas Texas

So as of today I am officially homeless.

I won't bore you all with long sob stories.

About a year ago lost my job of twelve years, couldn't find new work, made some bad financial choices, and today I sit in the public library on my old laptop typing away as all my posessions lay in three small suitcases very close to where I am sitting.

I think this might possibly be the worst place to be homless, given the horrible heat.

So I have seventy-five cents to my name, am not sure where I'll be putting my head down to sleep tonight, and was wondering if anyone else out there has been in a similar prediciment.

I'll update my story here as I can. Maybe a few people will find it interesting.

i still need someone willing to call greyhound for me to see if a ticket is watiing for me..if anyone is willing to do that leave an email and ill reply back with my name and the info on where the ticket would have been purchased from and going to.

So what's the advantage of being homeless in another city/state? The good thing about being homeless is you can do that anywhere...

One reason i know is he wasnt trying to walk around in that sweltering heat, and i dont blame him. Dallas is one of the hottest places in the country, this coming from someone in Vegas.

So as of today I am officially homeless.

amen it's 91 outthere now. Anyway, a little update..my friend has come through with purchasing me a bus ticket to new york. I will be leaving Texas tonight. I probably won't be able to update this until i reach my destination, but i do want to thank everyone who had positive things to say.

same reason they put up signs saying not to feed the wildlife at parks...the animals grow dependent on handouts and won't fend for themselves...

That offer sounds like a dream. I'm a bit far from Iowa though at the moment. If I was in Iowa I'd take such a great offer in a heartbeat.

It's going to be a long bus trip probably through some real nasty weather tonight. But I'm still going to be on it.

Library where im at is right across the street from bus stop so i'll be here until they close at 8pm then headding over to the terminal to wait for my midnight bus
