I just emailed you an online $25 Starbucks redemption code for a gift card. Enjoy it, and I hope your situation changes soon.

OP, in 45 min. to an hr. a guy will be delivering pizza, a 2 litre pop, and donuts in front of the station. He'll be driving a blue SUV. At least its something. 8(

oh wow. That is incredible. Thank you so much I'll have my eyes open out there in about 30 minutes. If the camera on this lappy works i'll even take a picture of me eating the food here in the station so all the skeptics that have posted on this thread can re-think its validity. Again, thank you
 Quoting: homelessguy92

YW, OP. No need for a picture. Maybe someday you can do it for someone else. Hope it's good.

My Starbucks card was a gift to me and I truly believe there is something to be said about paying in forward. So enjoy.

And then get a positive head on your shoulders and figure out how you are going to get back on your feet and live life. Times are tight for a lot of people right now, but with a positive attitude and some drive, you can make this life experience be one of the best things that has ever happened to you.

I went broke once myself, and it changed my life and gave me a new perspective on everything.

My sarcasm radar is buzzzing! So either I'm pretty good at picking it up, or I'm just way too sarcastic and read everything as sarcasm.
 Quoting: AnonymousGirl

Yes, and no, I guess. When you've given enough times to find out later it was....not as claimed, you get a little jaded, unfortunately.

Knowing someone is hungry is my weak spot. I hate it and want to help. But don't want to be a sucker again.

There were a few things that bothered me, and maybe not rightfully so. Among them, I noticed this seemed to be the OP's first and only post here.

When someone asked if he had someone he could stay with for a while, he said no, but later mentioned the friend in NY.

His attitude also bothered me. Instead of being thrilled by his ticket, there were comments about the number of transfers, the length of time, etc. That sounds to me more a feeling of entitlement than appreciation.

After he found that someone promised him a ticket, he asked for someone to call about his ticket on one post, and on another, it sound like he was right across the street from the bus station.

One kind person offered to bring him food. If that person brought food, nothing was ever mentioned about it. Shortly afterward, he had a ticket. Did the person bring the food and he was gone? Evidently he didn't have any, since he "jokingly" asked for Western Union to be able to eat at one of his stops.

Things like that. There may be a reasonable explanation for all of it, which is why I hesitated to mention it. It's probably just me. It's wonderful to help people in need, but irks the heck out of me and makes it harder for those who genuinely need, when some are less than honest. That's probably the basis for my sarcasm.
 Quoting: Nine's

All valid points. :)

I'm still travelling. Two bus breakdowns en route.I am on the last leg of my trip but I am on a 12 hour layover in Syracuse NEw York waiting for my bus to Amsterdam NY at 10am tomorrow morning. I appreciate all the good wishes in this thread, and to the bad ones, well, that's how it goes. I haven't eaten since Sunday night--that is true no matter what some want to believe. Kinda rough watching all the other people eating in the subway and dunkin donuts here.

Btw, I think it'd be neat to see a photo of you eating a meal...if you feel like it. You could remove it after a few minutes, lol!

So you are only in Dallas for the night and then on to NY, is that correct? Let us know when you get there so we can maybe help you settle in.
