If you have no family to help you out, go to a Wendy's and say, "I'm homeless and I have no money." It is company policy to give a free meal to the homeless and unemployed.

I also heard that most grocery stores will forgive you if you're caught shoplifting if you're homeless

Hi OP. I'd like to suggest that you change your online name so that you are not constantly thinking of yourself as a "Homeless Guy". Your brain takes things very literally. We are always creating our new reality.

Bureaucratic catch-22 situations and a populace willing to cooperate in their own enslavement.

Never ceases to amaze me.

If the 'crats got cursed out ten times a day and slapped or punched in the face from time to time, everything would work smoother.

Good suggestions but they don't totally resolve the catch-22 I'm caught up in. First, I don't have the cash right now. Second, when i DO GET my distribution check, I'm going to need a valid new york state license to open a checking account here so i can deposit it. And I can't get that license without FIRST having my birth certificate.

It's like you can't get this because you don't have that and that. And you can't get that because you don't have this and that.
 Quoting: homelessguy92

you'll pay, but you should be able to get your cheque cashed for a fee
 Quoting: _richard_

Besides real banks, there are very FEW check cashing places in NY. The reason is new your state law limits them to a 2% fee. And even if I did find one, I really don't want to have to give up 2% on an 8k check.
 Quoting: homelessguy92

Can you give the check to your friend to deposit in his account? Then he can give you the money back. Give him the 2% fee for doing this for you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1715029

My financial issue has been taken care of. Despire my bad credit I found a local bank that took me as its customer, and thus was able to deposit my check yesterday. As a new customer, and due to the amount of the check, they did of course put a 7 business day hold on it. But at least in a short time I will have access to funds.

Not possible here. The local authorities already believe my friend--because he is an old school hippie--grows weed on his land. He has thrice been raided already in the last ten years, even though each time nothing was found.

You should get a bucket and a squeegee and wash windshields at intersections. If people don't pay break off a windshiels wiper or key their car.

They will learn to pay.

OP..I suffer from the ear ringing as well. I did find a homeopathic medicine at Walmart (over the counter) called "Ring Relief."

While it didn't take it away completely, it did tone it down a bit. It cost $10.00. I've seen it at Walgreens too. Best part is that it is homeopathic, so I was okay with using it.

actually it has subsided ALOT. I am kind of convinced now it's related to sinus problems. After a few snorts of afrin it cleared up about 80%. Usually in the morning it is bad then subsides as the day goes on.

OP what is your situation now? I went back a few pages on this thread and all I saw was that you are currently living in a cabin somewhere and trying to put down roots. Maybe I can give a few good ideas/tips. I've glanced at this thread and already seen some good ones.

Thanks, right now I'm trying to figure out where to get some chow. Sadly it seems the city has cracked down on people feeding the homeless.

same reason they put up signs saying not to feed the wildlife at parks...the animals grow dependent on handouts and won't fend for themselves...
 Quoting: BRIEF

what exactly do you imagine that animals eat on golf courses? grass? It's not enough you destroyed their habitat so you could putz around on the golf course, but then won't give them any food, and then you gotta tell others not to feed them, too? Mind your own fuckin business.

feeding the animals should be mandatory, if you do not feed the animals you are a selfish person.

i think he was just answering the question about why theres no chow by telling the mindstate of the people that made it happen.

only recently i read about citys no longer helping homeless in hopes of them going away to somewhere else where they can still get help.

its a harsh world. specially when some big company fucked over your financial life while getting tax breaks because they donate to homeless shelters...

There is a little group that has sprung up near where I live. They are decent homeless peeps most have lost jobs. There is one alcoholic but a nice one. People near me found out about it and took food blakets etc. They have made little tents and all sorts of things.

If you could ask around to see if there any camps like this until you can get some strength and start looking for work.

Re: Homeless in Dallas Texas
So as of today I am officially homeless.

I won't bore you all with long sob stories.

About a year ago lost my job of twelve years, couldn't find new work, made some bad financial choices, and today I sit in the public library on my old laptop typing away as all my posessions lay in three small suitcases very close to where I am sitting.

I think this might possibly be the worst place to be homless, given the horrible heat.

So I have seventy-five cents to my name, am not sure where I'll be putting my head down to sleep tonight, and was wondering if anyone else out there has been in a similar prediciment.

I'll update my story here as I can. Maybe a few people will find it interesting.

Just make sure you clean up and don't tell ppl you're homeless...just tell them you're travelling. Who knows who you'll meet and what opportunities may arise?

It's not thief, it's hunting and gathering, Business aren't human, they are soulless homuculi. No one owns anything, it's only a belief, it is imaginary, like money and unicorns. The only power is has is shared belief.

Scamming is also a form of hunting, it appears all over the animal kingdom. If it's good for animals, why not you.

It's your right to hunt and gather. Humans are just animals with the ability to reason and self reflection. self(father, higher self), sensors for sensing self(holy spirit, self sensors), representation of self(son, image of self).

Legislation is the framework within which citizens "CONSENT" to be governed. Don't consent, do what you will.
