Sounds like your WiFi card driver is jacked. I would try to uninstall the driver and re-install it. You may need to call the company that made your computer to do so. They can be a bit tricky.
Abuse the masses to reach a few.

Re: Need a little computer HELP! please
dump Internet Explorer - completely delete from your machine, save it to a CD and then break it into tiny pieces and finally light the tiny pieces on fire!

Internet Explorer has every hole imaginable to let malicious intruders hijack your machine, steal your bandwidth and just plain play a foul with your computing experience.

Get rid of it!

That will be step one to solving your problem. Guaranteed.

One more thing, try possibly swapping out a known working ethernet cord. Maybe the one you're using isn't working properly. What are your response times when you ping your router from the computer btw?

hrmmm i've never tried to ping it, i'll go do that

and i've tried multiple ethernet cords, why back on the cold day where i though about RESTING MY ROUTER, lol...

i'm not totally brain dead guys :)

Ok, you tried several nic cards, did you make sure to shut off the on board nic through the bios???

The add in card will not work wityout doing this.

Re: Need a little computer HELP! please
You don't need any updates.

You just need video card, ethernet or card, DRIVERS.

The drivers will allow it to work at maximum.

Other than that, you're doing something to reduce the capacity, or not installing properly.

Re: Need a little computer HELP! please
Hey i know this is a little off topic but i know there are a couple of you out there with the answer that are nice enough to reply.

I have a recently bought computer, quad core3ghz, 3.5gigz ram, 1gig graphics memory.

Problem is about half a year ago the internet kind of stopped working on it, like it works, but it doesn't, internet explore has a god awful time trying to load the most simple site like this one, but Firefox loads if fine, but then if i try to load a site with flash or a bit more customized layout, internet explore has no god damn chance in hell of loading in, and Firefox will load half way, until i decide to go to another webpage, then it will instantly fully load then 'try' to load the new webpage i directed it too again. I can't connect to Microsoft live updates

((""I HAVE MULTIPLE PC'S/Devices that USE the internet, my internet is NOT the problem :) i know how to reset my router THANKS :) lol""))

so i reformatted, didn't work
then i reformatted again onto a different OS (Windows 8, was previously on Windows 7) didn't work, so i went back to Windows 7 in some fucken dumb hope, DIDN'T WORK, then i went to Windows XP, still doesn't work.

Right now i'm stuck on windows xp, all the drivers are PROPERLY installed, but it still shits on my face...
half loads every page (except this one WOOT) and then shits on me when i go to another.

btw i have 75gigs/s download so its not my internet speed ;)

The computer guy down the streets says its probably something to do with my network card, but i'm pretty sure it's built into my motherboard and my motherboard still works fine

HEEELP MEEEE PLEEEASEE!!!

ahhh

Logon as an administrator and see if that solves your problem. Flash slows down, even crashes internet explorer when you are logged in as a regular user, apparently there's some kind of bug in flash.

Re: Need a little computer HELP! please
Going back to your original motherboard NIC - although you've already installed another NIC and it works now - is it connected directly to your router through a cable? If so, have you tried cleaning the network jacks on the router and the motherboard? You can actually see the, I think, nine strips of metal if it's gunked up or not. Nothing a cotton bud tip and some WD-40 can't cure.

Find a folder on C called system32. You will find that this is gunked up. Delete the folder and everything will be fine once more.

Re: Need a little computer HELP! please
Can you go to the library or something and download updates on a flash drive and then update your computer that way...it's what I did after my computer crashed.
