Re: Lyme disease question
Its not affecting DNA like you would think the DNA marker is present in a certain cell type of your body. That cell identifies the infection, consumes it and then communicates the infection to other cells initiating the process so your body can fight it. The DNA that is stored in that cell remains as it does with every infection you have ever had. That is a remarkable function of the immune system and allows a faster Identification should you become infected again and in some cases keeps you from ever being infected again. I'm assuming this is from deer ticks and if it is joint fluid tests for DNA are not reliable methods to test. This is a chronic infection and if you get an auto immune response then you see the long term bone and joint issues, fibromyalgia etc. The auto immune response is caused by a different group of cells.
“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a tellar but for want of an understanding ear.” Stephen King
