Gypsy Priest (OP) User ID: 37401502 United States 05/26/2013 11:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Prime Minister David Cameron's office said the group aimed to fight radicalism in schools and mosques, tighten checks on inflammatory internet material, and disrupt the "poisonous narrative" of hardline clerics. Rigby's killing fuelled public anger about radical Islam. It has also raised questions over whether more could have done more to prevent the attack and put pressure on Cameron to tackle suspected militants more forcefully. Witnesses said the soldier's killers shouted Islamist slogans during the attack. Bystanders filmed one of the suspects saying it was in revenge for Britain's involvement in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Successive British governments have wrestled with how to prevent people from becoming radicalized without alienating the wider population with draconian measures. Former British prime minister Tony Blair tried to tighten rules against hate preachers after the London bombings in 2005 that killed 52 commuters. The measures stirred a long debate over how to balance free speech and civil rights with a strong counter-terrorism strategy. Britain's two-party coalition government is divided over a planned new law that would allow police and spy agencies to monitor people's use of the internet and mobile phones. The Muslim Council of Britain, a religious umbrella group, said new government measures risked "making our society less free, divided and suspicious of each other". It is also very bad but I certainly do not expect the government to do anything about it that is false hope |

Gypsy Priest (OP) User ID: 37401502 United States 05/26/2013 11:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Michael Adebolajo was believed to have been preparing to train and fight with the al-Qaida-linked Somali militant group al-Shabab in 2010 when he was arrested with five others, Kenya's anti-terrorism police unit head Boniface Mwaniki told The Associated Press. Mwaniki said that the suspect was then deported. However, Kenya's government spokesman said he was arrested under a different name, and taken to court before being handed to British authorities. "Kenya's government arrested Michael Olemindis Ndemolajo. We handed him to British security agents in Kenya and he seems to have found his way to London and mutated to Michael Adebolajo," spokesman Muthui Kariuki said. "The Kenyan government cannot be held responsible for what happened to him after we handed him to British authorities." Yes, agreed yet, watch what happens! There will be a police state, everything tight security. I also think that soon Muslims here in USA will be in uproar about how the world is thinking about them and more terrorists and incidents (not only them but others as well ex: the boy in Oregon caught almost ready to bomb his high school) will happen here as well. Then, there we go, police state, martial law here in the US as well. It's all falling into play. |

insertfunnyusername User ID: 40525927 Greece 05/26/2013 12:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's good news imo, lots of radical preachers in UK from the little research i've done this past week, deportation process should start asap. One would think that if they dedicated the same amount of effort and time to change their own societies back home, maybe they wouldn't have to be here preaching their shite in the first place, they have potential enormous influence on the moderate muslims of western societies. And the second thing, don't let muslim states fund the mosques in the west, because they bring their own nutjobs and the situation can become uncontrollable and radicalized because, not all mosques, but some/many of them become a place of political, religious and social propaganda and in some cases 'freedom fighters' recruitment networks. The preachers should be govt appointed from well integrated parts of the society with a relative academic background, preaching a form of Islam close to western society standards and not a ME one, this is not the ME, lol. All mosques funded by outsiders are a potential lost cause when shtf. |
