Re: Can God Die?
Yes, God can die, and He did.
And if you can't understand that you don't deserve to be God.
 Quoting: Oregon 1006609

I understand. So, I now deserve to be God?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36296693

If you did understand you wouldn't have felt the need to ask the question.

I'm curious as to what people have to say. Completely hypothetical.
Personally, if he does exist, there lies a paradox.

Re: Can God Die?
The God to which this thread (the 'Christian god') is directed CAN NOT die, because he NEVER EXISTED in the first place.

The same goes for the God of the Old Testament, for anyone who wishes to draw a distinction beween them.

And Allah.

And every other religion that worships a god.

*IF* there is a supreme being, it's never been spoken of or written about, as there aren't words that relate to it. No mere human could even begin to conceive of such a being, let alone ocmprehend it.

As such, every 'god' that people worship is a false, man-made image of what whichever group of people thought was god-like at the time.

Re: Can God Die?
I had a dream once that I died and went to hell.
I slew the devil with the power of Jesus.
I then took a sword from the devil (God slayer / sword of truth).
I freed all souls from hell and we ascended to heaven.
I slew God, and all of humanity that ever lived celebrated and took heaven for their own forever...

So you dreamed you were Lucifer? the end.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37363805

Can't read? I killed Lucifer first.
God will never die as long as he lives in the minds of men.
We all have the power to kill the God of delusion.
That was the whole point in Jesus.
To change the way people think, let God perish and be reborn in a more advanced form.
It is not so much about God as the perception and projection of God.
If God created us in his own image then we just need a better image of God.
I would not send my children to hell forever for not obeying and worshiping me.
If I would not being a mere mortal and imperfect without the boundless love of God then why would he?
Only we judge ourselves, and perspective is the entirety of the equation.

Re: Can God Die?
God is kind of like King - Different Kings come and go, they are all called the King. So the God of earth is not the same being that we had 3000 years ago.

Chris Tomlin - Everlasting God (with lyrics)

[link to www.youtube.com]

Isaias (Isaiah) 43: [11] I am, I am the Lord: and there is no saviour besides me. [12] I have declared, and have saved. I have made it heard, and there was no strange one among you. You are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and I am God. [13] And from the beginning I am the same, and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall turn it away?

Job 36:26
Behold, God is great, exceeding our knowledge: the number of his years is inestimable.

Psalms 44:7
Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of uprightness.

Psalms 101: [26] In the beginning, O Lord, thou foundedst the earth: and the heavens are the works of thy hands. [27] They shall perish but thou remainest: and all of them shall grow old like a garment: And as a vesture thou shalt change them, and they shall be changed. [28] But thou art always the selfsame, and thy years shall not fail.

Ecclesiasticus 42: [18] He hath searched out the deep, and the heart of men: and considered their crafty devices. [19] For the Lord knoweth all knowledge, and hath beheld the signs of the world, he declareth the things that are past, and the things that are to come, and revealeth the traces of hidden things. [20] No thought escapeth him, and no word can hide itself from him.

[21] He hath beautified the glorious works of his wisdom: and he Is from eternity to eternity, and to him nothing may be added, [22] Nor can he be diminished, and he hath no need of any counsellor. [23] O how desirable are all his works, and what we can know is but as a spark! [24] All these things live, and remain for ever, and for every use all things obey him. [25] All things are double, one against another, and he hath made nothing defective.

[26] He hath established the good things of every one. And who shall be filled with beholding his glory?

Isaias (Isaiah) 28:21
For the Lord shall stand up as in the mountain of divisions: he shall be angry as in the valley which is in Gabaon: that he may do his work, his strange work: that he may perform his work, his work is strange to him.

Hebrews 3:12
Take heed, brethren, lest perhaps there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, to depart from the living God.

Lamentations 5: [15] The joy of our heart is ceased, our dancing is turned into mourning.

[16] The crown is fallen from our head: woe to us, because we have sinned. [17] Therefore is our heart sorrowful, therefore are our eyes become dim, [18] For mount Sion, because it is destroyed, foxes have walked upon it.
19 But thou, O Lord, shalt remain for ever, thy throne from generation to generation.

Deuteronomy 32: [39] See ye that I alone am, and there is no other God besides me: I will kill and I will make to live: I will strike, and I will heal, and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. [40] I will lift up my hand to heaven, and I will say: I live for ever.

Re: Can God Die?
It all depends on what death means. Maybe death is not death and life is not life.

Can GODS die? YES

They are men or other beings who claimed to be superior and were believed by the average man.

As far as the initial creator of all living beings. No.
Source continues to live within us all through the energies that give us life.

In the beginning there was only one and the one became two and so on. The essence/substance/spirit/soul is ever living through every life form since the beginning of existence.
With this known, the creator spirit and energy never dies. It simply carries on through every living being.

When a being denies their connection to the true creator, they are attempting to be their own GOD while taking credit away from the one true creator of all living things.

When one says there is no GOD, it is not the same as saying one has no creator. Without the one true creator of all living beings, you simply do not exist.

Notice all the different GODS in religion. Why so many?

Because they were simply beings who took away the credit of their existence from their one true creator. Were they mad? Maybe. But they managed to take on a following of other mad beings who worshiped them and gave them more power.

No church, preacher, Pope or priest can connect you to your creator. Only you can make that direct connection.

The man we all know as Jesus was a rebel to the church and their power over the people. He was killed because he tried to teach mankind of their individual power to connect to their creator. This knowledge would have taken the power away from the organized religions and their power hungry leaders, so they had Jesus killed. Many of the things written about Jesus and many of the quotes of Jesus have been rewritten or made up to benefit the church. This is why so many people cannot make the connection. They feel that something is wrong with the story. They're right.

There once was true history of Jesus and his teachings, but it was all stolen and put away by those now in power. The books/bibles have been rewritten over and over again. They continue to be rewritten today.

Clear your mind, clean your body from within and attempt to reconnect with your true creator from within. Only you have the power to do this directly. THE POWER IS WITHIN US ALL.

Re: Can God Die?
in genesis it says that god created the world in 6 days then he RESTS on... So if he have or need to rest that would mean that at least he is not infinite in that aspect. and taking it to a extreme, theoreticaly if one get tired, one can die from exhaustion.
So if that makes sense, i belive he can die, or be killed.
anyway thank you for the thread that is always an interesting questionbump
