Well, TAXES are 'supposed to be' a device by which a Royal Tyrant (the Corporations are USA's royalty, I'm afraid) makes his citizens pay for his territorial/asset-grabbing sport abroad. You're not supposed to be taxed in peacetime. You're not supposed to be taxed more than the Companies.

Clearly, were you to announce/simulate ALIEN INVASION or GLOBAL TERROR or WAR ON YOU, then the taxing opportunities to impose a Police State are exceptionally prolific.
