Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30699297 Enlighten me on this. I am fairly certain that the Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho, and Steelheads either migrate to Baja or furthest up to Washington State. Where was it ever documented that they migrate to Japan?! We catch em' every year from August to the end of September in Benicia, or on the Sac. The report I read said the steelhead leave the Columbia river and head north along the coast up to Canada and Alaska and then head strait over to Japan where the circle the Island eating shrimp and what not. When the time comes they cross the entire Pacific in a ridiculously short period of time and within three days of reaching the Columbia some of them will be in the Cowlitz salmon hatchery. I read this info while studying the feeding habits of Pacific Salmon and steelhead to further my understanding of the best "most prefered" live baits for fishing purposes. It's saved on one of my hard drives around here somewhere. But my pile of research dregs are nearly unsortable at this time. |
