If war does break out with Israel, i don't think Russia will wait for a US-EU response, they will strike first and hard, as Russian military doctrine still calls for a wide front against Poland and Norway, they could probably over run Poland in a week with their massive armored spearheads before NATO could respond, but they would get seriously bogged down in Norway with the mountainous terrain heavily favouring the defenders, but lets hope it doesn't get to that.
