Interesting timing of this thread. I know I can count on some bad karma for some of my views, but I got one today that made me chuckle.

It cracks me up because it implies I am black, first of all. My parents are Mexican. What it really told me tho was that as long as I didn't have the 'white' point of view, I was always going to be reviled here. That's unfortunate because I can't ever have that perspective. I'm not white, none of my family is, nor ever will be. Why? I don't know, it's just the life I was born into. I didn't have a choice. I personally am employed, and pay taxes, and I haven't displaced any white families, so I fail to understand why I'm painted with the same broad hate-brush.

Clearly, this is a stalker since they know my activity on other threads. Anyways, I am glad I got under my karma stalker's skin. I find the attention to be quite empowering. No doubt, I will get a follow up red blessing next week for this.

What I cannot do, however, is simply ignore that abuses by American companies can and do take place. The central valley of CA is bereft of small 'family' farms and has been for decades. These are not companies that offer benefits or paid sick leave, when they do pay at all. They don't offer any real advances, they just show up with a truck in a hapless Mexican village with promises of a better life. They don't educate these workers in American civics, why should they?

They just do whatever is necessary to satisfy the bottom line and the sacrosanct entity known as 'stakeholders'. As long as our supply of fresh walnuts and oranges is uninterrupted tho, right? What about all the bullshit that fruit companies have wreaked in Latin American countries?
